Pragmatism

Being pragmatic during a time that calls for revolution is an unfortunate reality young progressives must face. The policy changes we see fit for taking on the challenges of tomorrow will not come willingly from the Executive Branch. The primary is not over, but I'm preparing for the statistical reality that Joe Biden will become the Democratic nominee. Whether or not he is able to beat Donald Trump in November is still a question, but even if he does, progressives will still have to fight to be taken seriously. That being said, it is still very important we do everything we can to elect Joe Biden, if he so happens to become the Democratic nominee. First and foremost is the Supreme Court. The next president, or current one, will be selecting at least one new Supreme Court member, and appointing judges all over the country. Donald Trump has so far stacked the courts with inexperienced, right wing judges, that will leave an impact on the United States' judicial system for decades to come, and make ANY leftist agenda difficult to put into law. That is why our path to prominence is through local government, and the House. Vocal, young, left wing fighters need to run for any and all government positions. We must push as hard for our agenda as possible, knowing that when a compromise has to be made, it is still much stronger in our direction than we could of asked for. With the reality that we most likely will not have a Bernie Sanders in the White House, our battle for control of the Nation will be against those at the apex of power, not aided by them. Our ideas have both the moral, and economic high ground. Never forget that, and don't stop fighting.
