2 lbs lean beef stew meat 3 T olive or salad oil
2 C water 1 6 oz can tomato paste
3 T wine vinegar 2 � tsp salt
� t each sugar, pepper and instant minced garlic
2 2" long cinnamon sticks 8 whole cloves
2 small white onions
1. Cut meat into 1" cubes, place in heavy saucepan and brown on
all sides
2. Mix next seven (7) ingredients, heat to a boil and pour over
meat; add cinnamon
3. Stick cloves into one onion, add both to meat mixture and
simmer until meat is tender (approximately 2 hours)
4. Remove cinnamon sticks and clove-studded onion before serving
