Bung and Irish 1979
A very young-looking 'Irish' O'Rielley (L) and 'Bung' Banning (R) on Exercise Pelican's Progress
, May 1979
Terry May K3 1979
This is a fine study of Terry May. I assure you he felt worse than he looks.
After flying to Amberley prior to deployment on Kangaroo 3, we all got on the piss in an ADGie reunion at the Amberley boozer.
Terry was so ill the next morning, it needed to be photographed.

HeliOps SecLdr Sep 1980 Enplaning/deplaning drills on Section Leader Course, Sep 1980.
Back in the days when we had helicopters on call. In the foreground is 'Shakey' Hammond, 'Bung' Banning and Doug Steele.
Taken on Sect Ldr course, Sep 1980.
Hurley & HJ Sep 1980
Another time with ages spent in the back of a truck on dirt roads. Fun, fun, fun.
This is a snap of John Hurley (L) and 'Head-job' Healey (R) after travelling said road somewhere in Greenbank Range on Sect Ldr Course,
Sep 1980
HJ on SecLdr Sep 1980
Believe it or not, I won 2nd prize in a photo comp with this portrait of HJ. I made the mistake of telling him that once, and thereafter there was no way of convincing him he wasn't the handsomest bloke in the mustering.
Taken on Sect Ldr course, Sep 1980.
NT Brewery tour
During some time off after Exercise Grand Buster '81, the NT Brewery made the mistake of inviting us for a tasting session in the staff bar after touring the facility.
We were almost through the 2nd keg when they kicked us out so the off-coming shift could use the facilities.
It's amazing how much piss you can squeeze inside you when it's free

Oils aint oils
Doing an "oils ain't oils" take-off,
I'm pictured here with (R-L) 'Pugsley' Collins, 'Bung' Banning and 'Aldo' Kovic on the convoy back from Darwin in June after Far North '83.
River crossing NZ
Drills in crossing rivers, New Zealand August 1983.
The water was at 3 degrees C, and our balls were just below our Adam's apples.
Damn it was cold!
Dusty Beetle
Stace (left) and Beetle (right) finally join the rest of the Squadron in Roebourne for K83 after coming up with the convoy.
They spent a more than a few clicks in the back over pretty dusty dirt roads. That '60 will take some cleaning!
In the background is Frank Barbarolli and Ron Bielken (Billycan)
First snow
This is my first (and only) experience of snow whilst in New Zealand on Ex Blackbird '83
