Notes
from the Star Gazer: Taurus carries the
archetypal energy of the growing loveliness of spring, of the lush and
verdant promise of the earth. It is classically said to be ruled by Venus,
in her aspect as fertile abundance, but 31 years in this astrological
art tell me that its true ruler is the Earth (to locate the earth in a
tropical chart, just look at the degree directly opposite the Sun). Using
the Earth as a co ruler and describing its house, sign position and aspects
enriches the information regarding the house and planets with Taurus on
the cusp or *containing* Taurus (in the case of interceptions).
Although
many attributes are assigned to each zodiac sign, I consider green to be
the Taurus color, copper its metal and emerald its birth stone. Additionally,
this set gives a passing nod to Assyrian art historical motifs. Together
with the Minoan culture, the assyrio/babylonians had strong affinities
to their heyday, the Age of Taurus, and their iconography often featured
the winged bull.
Oh...and
in case you were wondering about the quote of the week and how it relates
to the sign - Taurus is said to rule the voice, and the sensual loveliness
of the sign is exquisitely inferred in the poetic voice of Elegance, Taurean
Word Weaver Extraordinare.
