ABOUT
THE SAGITTARIUS SET
(by
the artiste, Moyra)
If
there is any one zodiacal energy that carries wisdom (and foolishness)
forward into the world, it is the cosmic centaur, Sagittarius.
This
strange dichotomy often puzzled me, until I payed closer attention to the
mythology surrounding centaurs. They were often teachers and healers, and
yet, when they encountered mind altering substances such as alcohol, they
went off on senseless and definitely *un*-evolved rampages.
No,
this is not to say that those born under the sign of Sagittarius are all
way-showers who go berserk every so once in a while, but it does illustrate
one of the principles that moves the universe: he or she who stands in
the brightest light casts the deepest Shadow. The nature of the first feeds
the nature of the second, and our spirirtual, mental, physical and emotional
evolution hangs in the balance of these two energies within.
Integrating
foolishness, the Shadow side of wisdom, through humor (and as one of my
own Sagittarian teachers once said about it, "Ya gotta have this stuff
to survive...") is one of the greatest areas of expertise of the evolved
Sagittarian energy.
Based
on this insight, a note of very Jupiterian cosmic advice: strive to be
just a little irreverent, to find fun and evoke laughter even in the darkest
hour, and you will become the wise and healing kind of centaur, arrow firmly
aimed at the brightest star, showing the way for us poor sods who know
no better than to self-importantly believe that we are the *only* sentient
life form in the universe.
The
symbol for Sagittarius and for its ruler, Jupiter, are included as the
bullets and the bar of this set, as is one of the minerals associated with
it, agate, and its stone, the fire opal. The color choices... welll...
hmmm...okay, they are not strictly conventional. I associate Sagittarius
with the wisdom chakra, which in those who have this center highly developed,
is indigo blue. Traditional Sagittarian colors are said to be saffron and
scarlet - the first seems much more leonine to me, and the second is very
martian/arian.
Once
again, I plead the Aquarian defense regarding the preponderance of indigo
blue. My Sun and Mercury in Aquarius made me do it ;-> |
