ABOUT THE CAPRICORN SET Capricorn, the 10th sign of the zodiac, is symbolized both by the mountain goat (on the Capricorn image, title and bar) and by the fish tailed goat (on the constellation image behind the mini-painting). It is ruled by the most beautiful planet in our own solar system, Saturn.
Capricorn, the third earth sign (preceded by Taurus and Virgo) holds sway over the mineral and crystalline kingdom, ergo the preponderance of crystals in this set of images. Its metal is lead, its birthstone is said to be the garnet, and its colors are black and grey.
The traditional astrological glyphs for both Capricorn and Saturn are part of this set as bullets and added elements in the images. The mini-painting that comes with this set and the subtitles bear the lead glyph for Capricorn, the bars and the title graphic that of Saturn.
The energies of Capricorn and Saturn are much misunderstood by astrologers, who tend to heap a great deal of negativity on these zodiacal and planetary signatures in charts (we ALL have Capricorn and Saturn in our birth charts!), perhaps because nothing satisfies this energy within us but the most impeccable striving after personal excellence. This is never an easy road, but it *is* the most worthy of them all.
A strong Capricorn or Saturn in a natal chart tends to bring many lessons involving the need to face our fears and limitations, because it is only by walking through those doorways that we can leave behind that which stands in our way and fully manifest that which we came to do.
The truth is that Saturn and Capricorn are the provinces of structure (think of the mineral kingdom!) and all its off-shoots, such as self-discipline, integrity and the the transcendence of worldy limitation.
Many more working artists than you would expect have a strong Saturn/Capricorn signature in their charts (as does this artiste), because as one of my teachers once told me, "There can be no beauty without structure". It takes a great deal of self-discipline and dedication (both very Capricorn / Saturn qualities!) to create for a living!
Most importantly, if you have been put off by an astrologer who misread these energies in your chart, of if reading those horrendous generalized sun sign descriptions of Capricorn have discomfitted you, remember that Capricorn and Saturn personify the dictum that states that "you get from life exactly that which you put into it".
Ultimately,this is the *fairest* of all astrological signatures.
Wear it proudly, and walk through the next doorway with grace and humor.
