ABOUT THE CANCER SET
(written by the creator of these amazing graphics - Moyra)
To the non-astrologers, all these symbols may seem a bit of a mystery, and even the astrologer may ponder some things.

Nope, you're right, deep blue green - kindly allow for monitor gamma issues, miners - is *not* a cancer color...white and grey are. But since I featured the Moon, planetary ruler of Cancer, so prominently, it looked waaay wrong on white or grey, and I chose to use the deep blue-green of the ocean, mother of all life on earth (Cancer is the sign of achetypal motherhood and nurture) as a backdrop.

The side border is a complex little image that has four half moons and 4 crabs - Cancer is the fourth sign of the ``natural zodiac" (which begins with Aries and ends in Pisces). Pearls are the Cancerian gem, and silver is its metal. The subtle water fill is the element for the sign.

Additionally, the crabs and moons framing the large Moon symbolize the Cancerian principle of containment, and the fact that Cancer is the energy of intimacy and family relationships, that which moves us to cleave to families and create our own, that which impels us to seek shelter and to group together with similars in ``neighborhoods" and ``cities".

The wisdom of the sign's energy has much to do with honoring our roots and our past...not surprisingly, the United States, a country which is more fixated on its history than any other I have experienced, is a Cancer country.

Cancer is a feminine sign (not as in ``girly", more as in ``yang"...half of the power that , together with yin, moves the universe), and some of the most intensely personal, powerful and uncompromising (and I mean that in the best way - as in not compromising their Selves or their loyalties) women it has been my pleasure to meet are sun sign Cancerians.
