Service Questions" posted by Kyle Dorr.
By the way, the Volvo service tech at the dealer suggests this stuff as
his "recommended maintenance"
(for the low low cost of $550 USD)
-
Check and adjust shift linkage
-
check and adjust parking brake
-
check lights
-
check horn
-
check and adjust wipers and washers
-
replace breather & clean niple (nat/aspirated)
-
check for fluid leaks
-
check for tranny leaks
-
check & adjust clutch (N/A for auto, obviously)
-
inspect tires
-
set tire pressures
-
rotate if necessary
-
inspect brake pads
-
change oil & filter
-
inspect fuel and brake lines for damage & leaks
-
inspect drive shaft joints for play
-
check rear suspension for wear
-
inspect body for corrosion
-
clean & fill battery
-
check and adjust drive belt
-
replace spark plugs
-
replace air filter
-
replace pollen filter (if equipped)
-
replace oil filler cap seal
-
change coolant
-
replace fuel filter and seal
-
replace distributor cap
-
replace ignition rotor
-
flush brake fluid
-
perform throttle housing service (cleaning & gasket, I guess)
-
lube doors & hinges
-
check & top off all fluids
-
clean & lube power antenna (not on wagon)
-
reset service reminder
-
road test
I would imagine that I could do about 95% of this stuff and just have them
do the belts. It can't be that
hard to inspect for rust!
