About Me
My Favorite Links:
There is not much about me to tell.

I am 41 (as of May 6, 2005).

I am married.  My husband's name is Steve.  We have no children.  We do have a very spoiled female lab/shepherd mix, Ditto.

Steve and I were married June 13, 1992.

We met though a mutual friend that worked with him at First Baptist Church in Sprindale.  Steve has worked in the maintenance department for the church for over twenty years.

I have taught  for Springdale Schools for the past eighteen years.

My first nine years was at Southwest Jr. High.  I taught 7th grade geography and an occasional civics class when they needed an extra teacher.  The past nine years have been at Helen Tyson Middle School, where I've also been teaching 7th grade geography.

I enjoy the outdoors.

We like to hike, fish, hunt, target shoot, canoe, go caving and camp.  Most of our vacations center around these activities.  We like to visit national/state parks, monuments and historic sites.  We both love history.

We are also fans of NASCAR.  Our favorite driver is Mark Martin.  We are sad to see that he is retiring after this year.

We (I) collect diecast cars of Mark and other drivers that we like.  I also have a small collection of Star Trek items.

I also love to read and prefer mystery/adventure/suspense.  Most all of my books are by Christian authors.

In addition to the above, I also read and collect Nancy Drew and Trixie Belden books.

On a more personal note:

I am a Christian.

I surrendered my will and my life to Jesus in December of 1976.  My faith is very important to me.  I hope that I have been the salt and light that we (as Christians) are suppose to be on this earth.

I am not perfect.

At times I have failed miserably.  I was "on fire" through high school and college.  As I've gotten older, I've let too many "things" sidetrack me.

Right now I'm working on getting back to the level of commitment that I had at one time.  Time seems to be my biggest enemy.  The only thing stopping me is me.

I'm very frustrated with myself.  My knees have more scars and bruises from the times I've stumbled than the calluses that should be there from praying.

I am so thankful that I believe in a God that loves me, even when I don't like myself.

My friends, if you are still reading this, please keep me in your prayers.

God's blessings and peace to all

Attention: Updates

There's a slight change to the information on the left. I didn't know  at the time of this photo, but this was my last day at HTMS as a geography teacher.  I am now the  4th through 7th grade In School Suspension Supervisor for my district.  I serve 13 Elem. Schools and 3 Middle Schools.  I miss the classroom, but I feel very fulfilled in what I am doing now.

Ditto Murphy: Feb ?? 1993 - Jan 12 2006
We lost Ditto after a very brief and sudden illness.  We were devestated to lose her so quickly.  She was a very good dog.
