About Us: Robert and Gerane Blair
Bob and I were raised in northern Indiana and finished school there. We moved to San Diego County, California in 1964 and raised our two children, son Blaise and daughter Cynthia. Both are married now and we have three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In 1991 we retired to the Ozark foothills of Arkansas. We decided we wanted horses again since we both were very active with them when we were young, but we didn't feel like we wanted to ride again. So, we thought we would get a couple of miniature horses to play with.
You know, just a hobby...
No such thing. You can't have just a couple of minis! We bought our first two mares Roxie and RisquÈ and then thought...how fun it would be to have a couple of little ones. Yep, that started it. We've been breeding and raising minis ever since.
We try to keep our herd down to about 10 at any given time, finding we can handle that many without a lot of trouble. We truly enjoy our horses and love to have folks drop by to visit with us--and them. The horses love the attention too. Visitors at our place always means an extra treat for the horses. They really are show offs.
And we welcome the questions people ask about miniature horses. Most that haven't seen them before are awed by their size and personalities. Children especially can relate to the smaller horse and they love it when the horses give them nuzzles and allow pets and hugs.
