1 gram of fat has 9 calories , while 1 gram of protein or carbohydrate has 4 calories.  Recipe Calc calculates nutritional values based on this.
To remove an ingredient while editing a recipe.  Left click it on the list of ingredients then select "Delete".
To replace an ingredient while editing a recipe.  Left click it on the list of ingredients then select "Replace", the next ingredient will be added where you removed the last one.
To add a noningredient line to the list of ingredients, for example a title of a group of indredients ( ie "Dry Ingredients" ) click the "Heading" button then type your entry.
The ingredient database has over 3500 items.  It can be modified as you please.
To turn off the sound at startup, click help on the top menu, then click "Play music on start"
To add an ingredient to the ingredient database, click "New Ingredient" on the top menu, you will then be guided through the steps to add an ingredient.
A blank line can be added the the ingredient list by clicking the "Heading" button, then click done without adding any text.
The ingredient database was derived from the USDA SR12 database , available online at http://www.nal.usda.gov/fnic/foodcomp/
To find an ingredient, you can either click the ingredient listbox, which is in alphabetical order or click the search icon to bring up a search box.
When you click "stored ingredients" on the top menu, it brings up a list of all the ingredients in the database.  To view an ingredient entry just click it.
A recipe must be saved before it can be printed, once saved go to the stored recipe screen, select the recipe, then click the print button.
Experiment with replacing different ingredients to see how it changes the nutritional value of a recipe.
Many "lowfat" items have very high carbohydrate values.
To edit one of you stored recipes, go to the stored recipes screen, select it and then click the edit button, it is then transfered to the recipe analysis screen for you.
To edit an ingredient already in the database, click "Stored Ingredients" in the top menu, select the ingredient to be edited, then click edit, the data will then be sent to the editing screen for you.
