I can't help but compare Logan to Chris. He is exactly like him. He's influencing Rory in an obviously bad way. Her stealing a yacht?! What's up with that?! (sorry, to get all Jerry Seinfeld on ya.)
Last week when I saw the promo for this week's eppy, I didn't want Lorelai to pregnant (for timing reasons). After I heard that she wasn't, I got surprisingly disappointed. I thought Luke was just the sweetest in this eppy. His and Kirk's quarrels in this episode were heelarious as always. The $0.10 factor was so funny. Luke actually gave in to Kirk (Hee Hee!) although he did debate using tire-iron guys on him. (Can you imagine Kirk running away from like four big guys with tire-irons? Hee Hee!)
I wonder if in the season finale Marty will come back. That would be cool. I liked Marty. I hope by next season Rory will realize that Logan is bad for her, and she needs to find a guy like Luke or Marty- not like her idiotic father. Rory has been getting more and more irresponsible. She's been taking things so hard. She needs to have more perspective. I know that Mitchums's evaluation was just awful, but afterwards she didn't even call her mother- somthing she always would have done before. She went to Logan. Not only that, but when she went to him, she didn't even tell him what his father said. She just stole a yacht. She's becoming more and more insane if you ask me.
I just watched it again, and I was wondering why Emily was being so nice compared to the way she usually is. I'm wondering if maybe she's finally accepting her daughter and the life she's chosen. Maybe she really was just proud that the inn's review was a rave. That would be a very refreshing, new side of her. Maybe some how she and Richard know that Luke is bidding on the Twickham house, so Emily is trying to be as nice as possible- after not reacting too well to her daughter's engagement to Max (trying to improve herself)- and Richard was the secret town-elder (interesting twist if true).
On note of the promo here is a list of people that are in the situation that someone could propose:
L/L
Rory and Logan
Lane and Zach
Paris and Doyle
Kirk and Lulu
I have no clue who it will be. It's hard to tell, especially since they've jampacked so much into a limited number of episodes, and we don't really know this knew side of Rory (or Logan) well enough to know if she's (or he's) ready to do anything that big with him (or her). If it's L/L, I hope that she proposes, not him. He's been pining for her for so long, I think him proposing would almost make him seem needy (we don't need to see that side of him). If Luke proposes, I hope she isn't thinking so much about Rory that she turns him down or says she isn't ready. If it's a smaller character that proposes, I'll be really dissappointed, but probably not as insane over the summer.
When Logan says that he thinks he's been a bad influence on her, I think it may have been the first time that I actually agreed with the little twit. I'd like to sic my tire-iron guys in him. I so want to like him; he's so charming. I just know that he's just gonna turn around and break her heart like Chris did with Lor many a time. Logan is the one that kept her and Marty from having a nice night together (Logan's poker game). I think that even if Rory and Logan are pulling a Freaky-Friday or something, he still went along with her proposal to steal the yacht (he's improving at a slow rate) and didn't talk her out of it or ask her why she was in such a bad mood. A good boyfriend would try to talk about (or at least find out) whatever it is that got you so mad in the first place. He should have just said, "Rory? Why are you in such a bad mood?" She probably would have told him, and he would have told her that that's the way his father is- just as evil as Stalin.
Mitchum's report wasn't all wrong. He said that she could tell what needs needed to be met and she makes sure everything is done that needs (opperative word here) to be done- that she would be good assisstant. As they are setting up for their meeting, Rory tells Lor that she has to go by telling her she has to make sure everything is in order- almost exactly what Mitchum said ahe does. During the meeting, Rory doesn't speak up at all; she doesn't say a word- again exactly what he said. He obviously doesn't "know" Rory, but he isn't too far off with his evaluation.
This episode pretty much stayed to the home base. Paris, Doyle, Lulu, Lane and her band, Michel, Dean, and (as far as we know) Richard were not in this episode. I know that they had to cram a lot into this eppy if they wanted to finish the season with a proposal, but they could have had a least a little of Michel or Lulu or Paris.
The posible job offer was not mentioned once in this episode, possibly because Richard wasn't in this episode (again- as far as we know). I hope she doesn't want to take it. It would break my heart to have it be something along the lines of, "Will you marry me?" "Can't. I'm goin' to France." I think the pregnancy scare probably put things somewhat in perspective (hopefully good). When she congratulated those people with the new baby, she could have just been being polite or maybe she realized how much she wanted another, how much she really is ready for a family. I'm not the one that thought I was pregnant, but when I found out Lorelai might be, I hoped she wasn't because the inn just opened and she's really not that ready. After seeing her face after finding out that she wasn't, I actually kind of felt like it wouldn't have been that bad. It would have brought L/L/Sid/Nancy together as a real family. It would have shown the "family side" of Luke to Lorelai- the side that she for some reason didn't notice when it came to him and Rory (I think he treats her like a daughter more than her biological father).
My hands are starting to hurt from all the typing...Woo!...
Today at lunch, I realized that if Luke was moving out of his apartment it would be empty- obvious, I know. Kirk is still homeless. You've probably already connected the dots, but I'm retarded so what can you do? How did I not even notice that Kirk must have a lot of money if he has all those jobs (15,000 to be exact)? I feel really stupid. I wonder if Luke would let Kirk live in his apartment. It used to be his father's office and Kirk is gross, but Kirk would probably pay him enough money for it. Just something to think about.
I may be retarded, but apparently I'm also a psychic. I knew that the ballerina dude left because of the Stalin comment before they told us. If you guessed that he left because of Lor's Stalin comparison too, please don't tell me. I love feeling smart!
Does anyone else think that they may have brought up Rory's birth control methods for other reasons than to just cut to the chase and for Lorelai to tell Rory she might be pregnant? Could Rory be pregnant? Maybe she proposes to Logan because she finds out that she's "with child". Maybe that's why she wants to quit school (following in her mother's footsteps for once), not only because Mitchum told her she wasn't good enough. (I'm on a guessing rampage here! A tirade even!)
My hands are hurt and confused with all the typing. I'm sorry this was so long. |
