JOHNNYFEST  -  2ND NOV  -  HALIFAX

Well, what can i say. this was always going to be a difficult gig from the start.
the odds were stacked against the lads to pull this one off but i have to say, they played a blinder.
there was the hostile atmosphere, andys fever and the few bottles of newky brown that slipped down stannys throat, all playing against them, not to mention they hadnt played together for eight weeks.
they performed three sets, the first being quite subdued, the second a bit more upbeat but the set which showed off the talents and the wilpower to succeed was the third and final set.
favourites such as BLINK 182, MONY MONY and TEENAGE KICKS were belted out like the lads had never had a break away from each other.
but i have to say that the song of the night had to be, SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO.
the clash cover went down an absolute storm with the audience and really got them going. the old classic YOGI BEAR even made an appearence but it took a mental audience to sing a fair few verses to arouse the lads to return to the stage to give one final encore of the comedy song.
i must say as a final fairwell to simon durrans, this was overall a very good gig, the circumstances could have been better but the overall sound was good.
the lads next gig is a warm up gig with the new guitrist mick.
this will be at the duke of wellington pub on the 17th nov and will take place in the upstairs bar on the sunday afternoon.
all are welcome to join us but be warned, this being a warm up gig, expect a few dodgy notes, especially if martin starts on the newky brown again.

just one final special mention to ken ransley
congratulations on becoming a grandad to rosie ransley
see ya all soon.
