Music by OYD 1974-2006
----------------------------------------
1974 - 1984
Symphonic Band Geek.  Traveled to Washington, D.C. with high school band, and throughout Michigan and Ontario, Canada with University band.

1985 - 86
Bassist for New Wave/Power Pop cover band the
Jet Boys.  We did Plimsouls covers long after it was fashionable to do so.  Luckily, West Michigan was a little behind the times! Featured Dave VanDyke, who almost made it big with heavy blues act Rollinghead.

1986
Bassist for
Johnny Bravo.  Featured Dave Zwart, later of Athens Georgia band Daisy, singing.

1987 - 88
Played Guitar for
I'van d'Jesus, another college band that wanted to sound like Springsteen.  Pity I was no Little Steven and our singer/bassist wasn't The Boss.  We were the house band at the Double JJ Resort Ranch, summer 1988.  Learned some Hank Williams, which in retrospect was a good thing.

1988 - 89
Produced some recordings with
Ignatious Crayola and Metallicious.  Timeless masterpieces?  You betcha!

1991
Tried to record Blanket Party, but the tape machine ate the tape and the born-again Christian neighbor had a fit around midnight. C'est le musique.

1992
Recorded my brother's new project
Manchowder.  Rough demos, but got the idea across.

1993
Made some demos with
Blacky Hix, poet extraordinare.  Learned that Ann Arbor's music scene ebbs and flows just like the rest of the world. "If you'd only been here two years ago when..."

1995

The great
Manchowder fiasco, part 1.  Remember bands, try to have a market for the music BEFORE doing your $50/hour 24-track recordings.  I played guitar and keys for 'em.

1996

Manchowder CDs (1000) arrive.  "Make CDs and the music fans will beat a path to your door" is not an accurate statement.  One or two good songs though.  Send me $3 shipping and you can have your own copy!  I also give them out to people overseas when I'm traveling.  People in Europe think you're important if you have a CD...  We also took 2nd in a prize-laden band competition in Kalamazoo.  Not bad for silly boys in costumes.

1997
Remixed "Evil Kneivil" by Manchowder  and produced Blacky Hix's "American Drifter" for
Wally Pleasant compilation Sasquatch.  Out of print, but I can send you the tracks for $4 to cover shipping and cost of CD-R.  Manchowder collapsed under its own weight in the Spring.

1997 - 98
Helped form the
Moonpies, which fulfilled a dream of mine to be in a straight-up surf band.  We got a fair number of gigs in/around Detroit too.

1999 - Present

Practice, practice, practice.  Gosh, it's good to actually know what I'm doing for once!!!  When will my big comeback take place, and what genre will it be in?

Current Stuff
Creating soundtracks for my various videos plus recording lots of Hip-Hop people in my mobile recording booth.
