Information for OARC members

This page will serve as a source of information for all OARC members. It has information about session times, regattas, special events. Useful suggestions from members would be appreciated!

Normal sessions information:

This terms sessions started on January 6th 2002. This term we have rowed a little, but have mostly been training indoors, in the gym and on the rowing machine due to the inclement weather. Hopefully the weather will improve soon. In the meantime, we have had an excellent session at the University rowing tank, and are planning a swimming session in the near future.

Sunday sessions are currently held at City of Oxford Rowing Club. We are very grateful for CORC's continued support.

Sessions start at 11am, and finish at around 1pm. Sessions run regardless of weather conditions - training is held inside if the weather is bad.

We are also supporting a new after school rowing and sports club at Iffley Meade school for athletes with learning disabilities. This club is currently only open to Iffley Meade pupils, but may broaden its membership in due course.

Will this week's session be indoors?

We usually use the University system of coloured flags to decide whether to run sessions on the river or on land. You can look at the "flag status of the river by clicking on the flag status icon:
If the flag is green then we'll definitely be rowing. Under normal circumstances we will not row under blue flag conditions, but we this is a judgement call for the qualified person running the session. No OARC athlete may currently row under amber or red flag conditions.

Athlete Representative

There are several disabled athletes on the OARC running committee. The offical athlete representative is Rachael Lunney , so get in touch with her if you have queries or complaints.
