Section 8 - Miscellaneous
Attendance/Dues chart
There are many ways to keep track of attendance and dues, but we found that a chart worked best for us. Each Circle group had their own little cloth bag, which contained sheets of star stickers. It was the job of the Circle leader to get the bag, collect dues, and then mark off on the chart who in their group was present, and who had given her dues. This works nicely as a teaching tool, to help the girls learn responsibility and organization. Plus, they all enjoyed it, so it worked for everyone!
We made the chart on a piece of bristol board, and it was laid out something like this:
|

--each square was divided into two diagonally, with one half representing dues, the other half attendance (so that if a girl was present, and brought her dues, two stickers went into her square).
Links to Other Resources
There are oodles of other resources out there, both in books and magazines and the internet. Your "Canadian Guider" magazine is an invaluable source of ideas and inspiration, and there are lots of great Guiding books out there. Here are just a few of them:
"Let’s Try It" skill books
"Campfire Activities"
"Clouds on the Clothesline" games book
