Hogwarts Camp Supply List
This list includes the clothes that your student will be wearing upon arrival at camp. Students should only have TWO pieces of luggage—her bedroll and a backpack or sports bag for her other belongings. If it doesn’t fit in one bag, there’s too much stuff! (Hogwarts parents, please note: no magical shrinking of belongings is allowed!)
To bring:
- Bedroll—small enough that your student can carry it herself. Should contain 1 warm sleeping bag, 1 blanket, 1 small SINGLE WIDTH bed-foam or air mattress, and a pillowcase or VERY small pillow. Roll all these things up tightly, tie with rope and place in a garbage bag
- One small stuffed friend
- raincoat, rainhat and rubber boots
- camp hat or other brimmed hat
- warm jacket
- 1 pair sturdy outdoor shoes (runners or hiking boots) - wear on Friday
- 1 pair of indoor shoes (slippers, sandals or white-soled shoes)
- 1 warm sweater or fleece
- 3 t-shirts—wear one Friday
- 3 pairs of pants—wear one Friday (leggings, sweatpants or cotton pants—no jeans please)
- 1 pair of shorts
- 1 pair of warm PJ’s or sweatsuit (no nightgowns—the cabin gets quite chilly)
- clean socks and underwear for each day, PLUS one extra pair of each.
- towel and facecloth
- toiletries: brush/comb, hair elastics & barrettes (as needed), soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, kleenex
- flashlight with NEW batteries (please check this—it’s no fun if the flashlight dies)
- notebook and pencil
- book for quiet time
- a broom
- 1 dozen cookies, in a bag (please list ingredients: eg. nuts, milk)
- optional: wizard costume for Saturday night ‘banquet’
PLEASE have your student pack her own bag. Mom and Dad can supervise the operation, but camping is about independence and learning and knowing where YOU packed it.
Please include everything on the list and LABEL it!! We don’t want 15 pairs of missing, unclaimed underwear or a pile of identical Brownie sweatshirts lying around at the end of camp.
DO NOT BRING:
- Candy, gum or any kind of snacks (ALL food will be provided at camp)
- walkmans or discmans
- mirrors or other breakables
- valuables, jewelry or money
All medication should be clearly marked with girl’s name, dosage and instructions, and must be handed to Tawny Owl (our first aider) upon arrival at camp.
