| Student of the Month
Professor Tom Riddle The Paddington HOH team recognizes Chris Candor as our student of the month for December! Chris has definitely shown a lot of Paddington Pride in the CR! He joined the staff of the house mag "The Alohomora", he has signed up for several classes, & he's a member of The Lunar Lights. Chris has also joined the Paddington Cheer Team & has been working on images for different clubs & things around the CR. He's always one of the first people to welcome newbies in the CR, is involved in lots of RPGs, & tries to give constructive criticism to members who want to brush up on their RP skills. He likes to play the CR games, too, & has been quick in making lots of friends. Look for more about Chris in the next issue of 'The Alohomora!' coming out soon! Congratulations Chris! We're proud of you! |
| Penshire House Billy Raven Ah once again Samuel Craft created some awesome siggie icons for our December Posting War! Its the Ravenous Reindeer against the * Elves, hard to tell who will win at this point but both teams are stuffed with some normally high posters. The house hasnt seen this much activity in a while, even the great Roger Davies graced us with his presents! LOL Bryony interjected commentary throughout, which is just as much reading as it is posting. The Penshire Secret Santa has its own RPG going, and as per usually, its turned into a PJ party with loads of gifts being passed around and plenty of food! If you looked around on the BB, you wouldve seen the spiffy holiday banners the Shirelings were sporting. We had a banner contest in the common room and the winners banner was to be used by all the cranes. Lynexe and me (Billy) were the only entries, though Lexie made three, it was hard to choose, but a lot of fun to do and have something that unified the house in showing their holiday spirit! Professor Ripley, mom, got us all Penshire crested black tee-shirts, a Penshire pennant, wrist band, stuffed crane, and Shire button! Faith got us all a tin of cookies and I got, well, my folks got all the gang and gift basket full of treats and a stuffed bear. The holidays were great for the Shire! |
| Penshire Prattle: A Delightful December!
By Bry Casten December, 2008 saw Penshire working hard to pull things together and get the house moving. We planned the month packed-full of activities ranging far and wide, so no matter what your style there was something for everyone to participate in! Penshire spirits have been raised and we are all in the holiday mood, thanks to some really great activities! For one, Prefect Assistant Emmaline Bagman headed up a banner contest, challenging all Penshires to create a holiday banner, which the house would then vote on. The favorite was in all Penshires signatures during Christmas week! Lynexe and Billy both created some spectacular work and gave us something great to put in our signatures! Amanda, Sapphire, and I worked on organizing an inner-house gift exchange, (much like that on the BB), except for Penshires only. We had a great number of people sign up and it was a spectacular way to show you cared for someone you might not have normally thought to buy a gift for. Samuel Craft organized a posting war Elves vs. Reindeer this time, and you can bet your bottom dollar the Penshires had a blast with it! Whats coming up in January? Just you wait it could quite possibly be our best New Years yet! |
| The Crane Train
By Bryony Casten Penshire hasnt seen many new members lately, but thats not to say we havent welcomed any at all! Current members are doing a great job welcoming everyone and trying their best to hook them on Penshire so keep it up, friends! This month saw us welcome Paulina Gracen, Matilda Maxwell, and Aidia Raye Randazzo (hows that for a last name)! We also welcomed Gryffindor transfer Trystiana Radek, and we are super pumped to have her! A big welcome to everyone! |
| Smilie of the Year
Written by a Shireling listening to music! As you may have read in previous editions of the OG, Keato Abbot of Penshire usually posts a smilie of the day, everyday! Usually he closes his eyes and moves the mouse around in the smilie area. When he opens his eyes the smilie that the mouse lands on is the smilie of the day. But on December 31st 2008 Keato will take the smilie that was the smilie of the day most that year, and that will be the smilie of the year! Now since this article will be published after that day UI asked him to tell me what the smilie of the year was, and he did. The smilie of the year is *drum roll* the blink smilie! Yes that little gut with one big eye and one small one, both of them opening and closing! So as long as it wasn't a staring contest this smilie wins the prize of being the smilie of 2008! |
| Psycho Emu
Matilda Maxwell Some of us around Hogwarts agree that Edward Cullen is hot. Some of us agree that a psycho emu ready to attack is better looking. Just recently, I had a signature made by Luna Lovegood in Ravenclaw (yes, Luna, you get credit for making it), and since its not every day someone comes into the Penshire Common Room with a psycho emu for a signature, I was given the idea to make an article out of the priceless reactions. So, here they are: * Deirdre: huh? * Faith: uhm ... o-o an ostrich is better looking than Edward Cullen?? well... if that's the case... it needs to work on being invincible and its intelligence * Emmaline: initial reaction: someone doesn't like twilight, now do they?? but I giggled. just a little. * Roger: Im scared * Professor Ripley: My reaction was that I wouldn't want to hand feed the thing! * Samuel: The first thing that came to mind is that Edward Cullen must look horrific. * Lynexe: *Blink* What kind of signature is that?! * Evan: Well, that kinda sucks cause I use Robert Pattinson for my play-by.. * Keato: Does Edward Cullen own a toothbrush? |
| Oh yeah.........we got more, turn page! |
