| A Semi-New Quidditch Staff
By Brown Belt Recently, Ravenclaw got a new Quidditch captain. When Myrrima Goldenleaf was unable to continue this role, the broom as passed to second year prefect, Arya Drottningu. Of course, this is a huge responsibility for one person. And, if you're new, it could be almost impossible. So, last year's Quidditch co-captain, Raelyn Ethania, will once again take that spot. Together, it's almost a given will bring the Ravenclaw Quidditch team to the top. |
| New Dueling Captain
By Brown Belt As Ravenclaw bid farewell to Joe Nworb when he moved to Paddington, not only did they lose a valuable member, the loss meant a vacancy in the spot for Dueling Captain. After a short application process, the title was given to Miss Jolie Taylor. No one expected her to take up this role, given her history of being too shy to talk, led alone lead a team of duelers. However, the young French girl has already begun to prove her worthiness. The first practice is well under way, and she has lots of plans for the future. Look out, other houses. Captain Taylor is here! |
| One Cent, Two Cents, Three Cents, a Dollar! Give the New 4C's Captain a Big, Loud Holler!
By Brown Belt When Melanie Monopoly left Ravenclaw, she left behind her role as head cheerleader. Of course, this spot needed to be filled as soon as possible. Many people applied, but the title was given to Ariene Callahan. She has the position before in previous years, so it's no surprise that she will be once again assuming the role. Congratulations Ari-Chan, I'm sure you'll be an amazing captain! |
| Riley Jake Sliver Snakes New Quidditch Captain
Slither With the start of the new term, the Snake House opened a thread to reform the Silver Serpents Quidditch team. First up were applications for the captain position and Riley Jake won this hands down! The Slytherins feel the young girl has the smarts, organization skills and drive to make a great Captain. With that taken care of, then came the posts of those interested in being on the team and what positions they would like to play. Captain Rye is now posting rules, strategy, and organizing play. We still have to work out who is playing where or what position, but with Rye at the helm, we know our team will be strong and look forward to our first match of the season. |
| Rumor Has it
Slither Some male Slytherins would like pink to be the new green, I wont mention any names, but those in the knowknow. Course others state that actually green is the new black and one went further with black being the new white. Rumor has it that Professor Snapes favorite color is pink and wants the common room painted this color and will be dyeing his hair pink. Of course we know Gred beat him to that, so with one pink-haired Slytherin, Snape will for go the dye job. In order to assist in the pinking of Slytherins common room, Jess DarkWing has offered to make lemon colored drapes which would be a great accent color. On another note, Eltanin claims some cloning is going on so Slytherin can spy on other houses. One Snake, who shall remain nameless, has been accused of looking under others beds, said Slytherin found secret plans to take over the world and school, a raccoon named Gryffie, and a pink tutu, which was found under a males bed, go figure. Tani tried to poison the Giant Squid and when that didn't work...he had the house elves put it in the kitchen....he's still waiting for the great hall to start serving nothing but Calamari. It was brought out that Viktor trained the house elves to set fire to the Gryffindor dorm rooms. The Gryffindors have all relocated to the Slytherin Common Room coz their common room has caught fire and the Ravenclaws have all relocated to the Gryffindor tower in order to investigate the "crime scene". Slytherin House is reviving the Broadway group they had last term, and intend to start with Godspell. Ill keep you posted as to who got which roles! |
| Where are all the students?
By Toby Mcdermont Lately it seems pretty dead around the20Paddington Common Room. At first, students were posting around the CR all day and all night long before. Now it seems like hardly anyone shows up in the Common Room at all except for a select few. Sources say that the reason for the lack of activity in the Common Room is due to students flocking to St. Mungos from epileptic shock. Why are all these people suffering the same thing? Sources also say that the causes of the epileptic shocks were due to former student Carries blinking avatar. Sources found out that Carrie was using her blinking avatar as a hopes to take everyone out and rule Hogwarts. Luckily, she was caught fairly quickly so her evil plan wasnt fully put into action. Shocked students are claimed to be recovering nicely and are expected to rejoin Paddington soon and will help raise activity in Paddington once again. |
| Paddington Rumors!
By the Paddington Privvy! Welcome back to another session of rumors, this time we have some love accusations and a battle for the Senior Prefect Position! Kaitlyn Sawyer, a Paddington student, accused her classmate, Soma Cruz of having a crush on both Summer and Lana and she says this is why he gives them a hard time! Furthermore, she accuses Summer and Lana of liking him right back! Surly this is going to cause some disputes in Summer and Lana's good friendship! They are all yet to reply!!! Over a month of dispute over who is deserving of the top spot, the Senior Prefect position, Yaxley Chambers has announced they he has gathered an army of the Paddington men in an attempt to kick Jenii Chang out of the position and take what is rightfully his. Jenii, who earler claimed that Yaxley was second in command most likely enraging the third Prefect, Brady Lennox, said that she has the Head of House on her side [Professor Tom Riddle] and that he conquers all! Whether or not this is true is hard to tell, because wouldn't Prof. Riddle be involved in Yaxley's army? Brady Lennox has been quiet in the fight, but she is not to be underestimated and she is surly bidding her time. That's all that's very relevant this month, hopefully the battle between our Prefects and Soma, Kaitlyn, Summer, and Lana doesn't rip the house apart! |
| Rumor Has It...Paddington Prefect Style:
by: Paddington Prowlers It's no secret around Paddington that the prefects have been battling for the top spot as SP. Jenii Chang currently holds the position, and has made it clear that she is not prepared to give it up. Brady & Yaxley, Paddington's other prefects both keep a keen eye on the chain-of-command, hoping for some changes. As it stands, Yaxley was promoted to being second in command by Jenii when the SP felt that Brady was getting a bit too power hungry. Yaxley was excited to be placed above Brady, but he felt that only half of his work was done as Jenii Chang was still a peg above him on the ladder of the Paddington Hierarchy. As of now, the only male Prefect is lying low and following so-called orders from his SP, but secretly he is gaining an army of the Paddington men to assure that the Polar Bears habitat is lead by a Papa Bear, rather than Mama Jenii. Yaxley was found openly declaring that he and Brady were planning to overthrow Jenii. Seeing as Yaxley hopes that the new house doesn't crumble under the threat of a three-way Prefect war, he has made his army of men a last resort. Instead, he plans on going to Brady behind Jenii's back to offer a deal in uniting against the SP. Once Jenii has fallen, Yaxley plans on using his boy-charm to woo Brady into the second position and ruling Paddington in the way he felt it was supposed to be ruled. Jenii has stated that she would be quick to have them show the door to the common room if they so much as tried to overthrow her and has claimed that she has Paddington's HOH on her side. No one knows how this battle will turn out, but we can only hope it doesn't get ugly. |

| The Cow Goes Moo!
By Luna Lovegood The plan was created. The PMs were sent from the Bulletin Board. And replies were sent from those PMed. But why was this? Simple. Gred talked me into it. XD The PM I sent: The cow goe moo! Here are the replies that I got: "And the duck goes quack." --Eireann, Ravenclaw "The duck goes woof!" -- Gabby, Slytherin " I don't get it..." -- Sam, Penshire "And the pig says oink!!!" -- Professor O'Connell "Thats...nice..." -- Dawlish, Paddington " Uh...the pig oinks?" -- Katlin, Paddington "Really? It does?" -- Jenii, Paddington "Haha! and the duck goes QUACK!" -- Teagan, Hufflepuff "...or does it? =P " -- Amber S., Ravenclaw "It does really? Are you certain? I thought only moo-cows go moo. ~ Baxter" -- Artemius, Ravenclaw "Huh? :neener:" -- Roxanne, Gryffindor "Hey, Luna. How's it going?" -- Gawyn, Gryffindor 'Actually, according to an informal survey done (by me) while in the country, it seems cows don't actually say "moo" near as often as they say "mm-mm-mm" (with their mouths closed). Similarly, roosters say "er-er-er-er-errr!", dogs say "ruh! Ruh!", and cats, while they do sometimes say "meow", more frequently say "mow". Further studies, of course, will have to be done to determine if these findings hold true across a more geographically and biologically diverse range of places. I look forward to seeing further research done in this important area of stereotype-debunking.' -- Gwen, Ravenclaw " " -- Professor Snape We also had a few who didn't bother answering the PM. And yes, I do plan on embarrassing them. XD They were...okay, even I am not that mean! Just teasing you! But do enjoy the reactions that I did manage to grab! |
| The Boggle games follow. (The actual grids will show up best if you either use a table with the text-align at "center" or use a font like Courier New which has equal-width letters.)
-Gwen Tatham, second-year Ravenclaw. ------------- Boggle Potion BHPE AOCL DTIG SDNR Every word of the following recipe can be found in the 4x4 Boggle grid above. (Each letter of a given word has the next and previous letters of the word either above, below, on the side of, or on a diagonal of that letter. A particular letter in the grid will not be used more than once in the same word.) Can you find them all? Boil oil in a pot. Chop toad's grit. Dice bats' lice, dicot rinds into pot. Stir grit into pot. Grind rice, add to top. (Stop its cling to lid, bad glitch!) Stir. Stop doing stoic toil; batch's hot, rich--nice glint, tingle. (No? It's a botch.) For an easier challenge, try to find, in the following three Boggle grids, each Hogwarts house's animal, each category of wanded spell (including "spell"), and five important supplies for school (respectively).
