Mistress Queenie Stepping Down?!
By the Mistress's Tech Sgt. Minion

You heard it here first. Gryffindor's favorite dictator, Audrea Martin, is resigning from her duties for good. No one is sure why she is choosing to do so, but we are all devastated. She refused to comment when pressed on the subject and hasn't been seen around the Common Room.

Furthermore, Mistress Queenie has henceforth given all her power and authority to Lynn Jennings, a first year Gryffindor. Again, Mistress Queenie refused to explain her motives.

Keep reading to discover how the new dictator, Lynn Jennings, plans to rule, and what we have to say about it!
How to Pull a Prank
By Fiona Chauvet

The month of April is notorious for one thing, and it's not the beginning of Spring! It's April Fool's day and it's coming sooner than you think. To get ready for this great holiday I'm going to let you in on the secret of how to pull an awesome prank. You don't want all your friends pulling awesome pranks and being the only to not bask in the pranking glory do you?

-First thing is first, you need to pick a target. It helps if they're slow and don't catch onto things easily.
-Next, if you're a beginner it helps to start small. Mess with their every day products, and things you know they'll use that day.
-Cover your tracks so there's no trace of a prank in the area. If you leave evidence they'll catch on to your plan!
-Find a nice spot to watch the prank where you won't be seen.
-Finally, watch and enjoy as your prank unfolds perfectly. Then you can jump out and laugh at them.

Professors Put On The Spot!
By Lainey Vaux

As many people know, an "Ask a Professor" topic has been posted on the BB, and students are now flocking there to ask their teachers questions that have been burning in their minds ever since they entered Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Professors are being put on the spot, and many questions are not off limits, and so far, there hasn't been a question that a student has asked that a Professor hasn't answered. Questions included everything from music preferences to revealing who they have a "soft spot" for. So go, ask your Professor questions that have been in your mind ever since you started class, just be warned, they might not always answer.
Opal Avatar Outbreak!
By Lainey Vaux

For a scant four days, the esteemed head of Gryffindor house, and head of the Art Club, Professor Opal, was accepting orders for avatars through her shop "Opal's Avatars & Signatures" in the staff co-op. Now, before this, people who saw an Opal avatar saw one rarely, as many of the people who had received one had either been on the site for over a year, or had already faded off the site completely. Even so, the amount of Opal avatars around was so rare that to see one was truly great. However, it seems as though masses of people applied for avatars this time around, as it seems everyone out there has gotten their hands on an Opal avatar, or is waiting for Professor Opal to complete one for them. This is a truly great thing, because now nearly everyone has one, not just the older members of the site. So good work Professor Opal, and it's great to see all of your avatars around!
Gryffindor First Years Discover Moon Isn't Made of Cheese
By a Gryffindor

Last week, two first years, Lainey Vaux and Lynn Jennings, both of Gryffindor, discovered something very important when they were sneaking around the Astronomy Tower after hours. The moon is not actually made of cheese. It's made of tofu. "I know that this comes as a disappointment to all of us," says Vaux, who was the one who made the discovery, "but I find it incredible all the same."

The two of them have decided that they are not going to publish the findings in one of the major wizarding newspapers, and only came to me to state what they had found.
Anna Banana's Real Name
By Two Anonymous Ravens

Just a while ago, I came across someone who told me an interesting tale about how Anna Banana, a blonde Ravenclaw, had changed her name from Anna Strawberry just before coming to Hogwarts. It it theorized that she wanted a name that rhymes so she had it legally changed and was careful not to tell a soul about it. Somehow, though, my source came across this news and told me immediately. Did she really just change her name just to make it rhyme? I think not! And this reporter is going undercover to discover the real scoop.
How to Beat the Winter Blues
By Fiona Chauvet

Winter seems like a very long season. In fact, it probably is the longest season, and it doesn't help when the landscape is buried in snow and there's been no sign of the sun in a week. This can drag anyone down. To perk up your season I've come up with some tips on how to beat those winter blues.

I'm personally a visual person, and enjoy taking pictures. In the summer time I make sure to take a lot of photos of the scenery, and in the winter I take them out and spend time looking at them. It cheers me up on a really cloudy day. If you're a bit more creative, you can draw or paint a picture of a spring day, or maybe write a poem about a summer evening. You'll see you will quickly feel less bummed about winter. Another helpful tip is to read a book. It helps if the book isn't set in a cold or snowy area, but sometimes it doesn't matter either way. If you're reading you're not outside or looking outside, so your mind goes somewhere else for the time. Winter will pass by much quicker this way. You'll see!
Lynn Jennings' New World Order
By Lynn Jennings

Hello! Now, for those of you who don't know, Mistress Queenie (AKA Audrea Martin), has given me all her power as a dictator. For more information, read the article in the Rumor Mill. Well, now that I'm dictator, I might as well present all my new subjects with my plan for a new world order:

1. Chocolate must be eaten at least once a day
2. Three hours of the day must be devoted to showing devotion for my awesomeness.
3. Gryffindor will win both the House and Quidditch cup every year...no questions asked.
4. Math is henceforth illegal
5. Those who oppose my power will be forced to tap dance in front of the entire school.
6. Christmas will now be every other day

Now that you've been given an introduction to my new world order; I hope you'll welcome me above Mistress Queenie as the new official dictator. If not, well, you know what will happen. Also, I would like to mention that my second-in-command will be Shannon Wood, also of Gryffindor.
My Interview with the New AHOH of Slytherin
By Beonca Aims

As I walked into the Slytherin common room I found Professor Kelina Bliss sitting near the fireplace reading comfortable, so I sat down in a opposite chair and ask if I could interview her for the OG, she was happy to let me.

BA: When you found out about the whole Assistant Head of House thing, what was running through your mind?
PKB: To be honest I was on a bit of a sabbatical during the time when the AHOH's were being discussed! So I didnt hear about it until I received the Professor's email asking me to be apart of Slytherin.

BA: How did you feel when you got tapped to be the Slytherin Assistant?
PKB: I was absolutely thrilled! Professor Snape has always been one of my favorites here. It was such an honor to be asked to be apart of his house.

BA: I know you and Professor Snape have known each other for some time now; do you think that played in him choosing you oversay Professor OConnell?
PKB: We have known each other for awhile yes. I have no doubt it played a big part in him choosing me. However I believe he also has a certain fondness for my pet squid here and thats what made his decision final.

BA: Did you feel welcomed when you first came in the Slytherin common room doors?
PKB: I was worried at first being an ex-Ravenclaw and all, that I wouldnt be accepted but I was wrong! Everyone has been so great to me.

BA: What do you think, being an x-Ravenclaw student, is the biggest difference in the houses?
PKB: Oh gosh Ravenclaws are beyond hyper. At least we were when I was still a student! Slytherins are a bit darker then the Raves of course. I can't say theres a huge difference though. Everyone works hard for their house and I will always have a soft spot for the
Ravenclaws.

BA: Tell me, what is your squids name and how did you come to have him?
PKB: His name is Threatspimp. *Laughs* Dont ask. When Professor Wallace and I were still students we were playing in the snow by the lake one winter. As we were talking something grabbed my leg. I looked down and there was a baby giant squid looking up at me with big squid eyes all lovingly. Long story short we haven't parted ways since! I think he has some enchantment on him though because he has never grown any larger then he was when he first came to me. It's quite odd.

BA: Why do you think he has such a crush on Professor Snape?
PKB: Well I do believe when no one is looking they sit together in Prof Snape's office and play. I have walked in on them more then once! Severus of course will deny it though. (The thought of Professor Snape playing with the tiny squid make me laugh, but I
contained myself and continued.)

BA: I know it will take a bit of time to feel totally at home here, what can the Slytherins do to help you feel even more welcomed?
PKB: Like I said everyone has been so great to me already. They can just keep on doing what their doing!
Interview with Professor Stephen O'Connell
By Lynn Jennings

As most of you know, every house was awarded a very special member. An assistant Head of House to make the lives of your heads a little easier and to make everything here a lot more fun! Gryffindor got to know Professor O'Connell, our new head of house and the professor of Wizarding Occupations. I took the time to ask him about his new role as our Assistant Head of House and about his current teaching position:
1. How do you like Gryffindor so far?
Gryffindor is great because it is a very active house that is really fun to become a part of!!

2. What do you feel is your favorite part of being our new Assistant Head of House?
My favorite part of being an Assistant Head of House in general is the fact that now I have a home at Hogwarts. When I was just a teacher I didn't really belong anywhere on PAD's and becoming Gryffindor's Assistant Head has given me a place to go.

3. What's your favorite thing about teaching Wizarding Occupations?
Wizarding Occupations is not a canon class so I can experiment with different things that I want to teach myself, and although I haven't started one yet, I can't wait to give Career Guidance Interviews to my students.

4. What qualities do you have that you feel made you the Assistant Head of House for Gryffindor as opposed to another house?
As far as I know, the Head of House's got the original choice if they wanted anybody off the back, nobody objected to having anyone because the staff gets along so well with one another. Professor Opal and I have never had a problem and we were excited to start working together. I also feel I have personality traits that welcome me as a good addition to Gryffindor.

5. Based on your past experience, what is the best advice you can give the students of today?
Personally, I would tell students, actually remind them, that PAD's is a fun place to be. Take on whatever workload you can and find the fun for you on the site, that's the key for all of our long-time members, they've found what they love about PAD's.

6. How are you planning to help out as Assistant Head of House?
I was very excited to be granted the post of Assistant Head of House, so unless I am offered a HOH role which is rare because I'm so new, or if I find I can't continue with the job, I believe I will be staying as Professor Opal's assistant for as long as I can!

7. For those not taking Wizarding Occupations, what do you feel is the most important reason or set of reasons to take the class?
Wizarding Occupations has simple lessons and homework that really introduce more of the Wizarding World in JKR's books than Hogwarts School, and eventually PAD's would love to have an adult world and my class could help quite a bit.

8. If you didn't teach Wizarding Occupations, what do you feel you would teach and why?
I would probably teach Transfigurations of Charms because they are subjects with endless material and those that many find interesting, myself included, I would love to teach one of those classes, but as it is great Professors currently fill those roles. I have to admit though that Wizarding Occupations is a very rewarding class to teach!

9. Were you a trouble maker when you were a student?
Hahahaha... PAD and Professor Ripley knew me best in my days as a student, and I can't say I was exactly the biggest trouble maker, but I'll tell you that I was never prefect of my house!

10. Anything else you would like to say?
I'd really like to thank Gryffindor for welcoming with such enthusiasm and even with a party!! It's been a great start to what I'm sure will be a great relationship!!
Interview with Professor O'Connell
By Samuel Craft

For this month, I met with Professor O'Connell, the new Assistant Head of House of Gryffindor, and asked for an interview. Of course, he agreed to meet with me and ask the few questions I asked him. So, here are the questions and answers I had after this interview:

(SC - Samuel Craft; PO - Professor O'Connell)

SC- 1. How thrilled were you when you found out you made it as an Assistant Head of House?
I was absolutely thrilled! Besides the ideas that it was invented for, helping out the HOH, having a true home, it was an honor to know that the other staff members thought I was a worthy enough candidate to be an Assistant Head of House. I was so honored and humbled when I was asked.

SC- 2. How do you like your new house thus far?
PO- I really love Gryffindor so far, it is a good House with many active members, and that doesn't just end with the House Staff. The students get along well with each other and the staff members and they are a really fun-loving house! It's awesome to be a Griffin!

SC- 3. Were you welcomed with open arms when you first entered your house?
PO- Another Humbling and honoring experience was the welcome I got upon my entry to the Gryffindor common room! In the thread there was welcome and best wishes from the students and my colleague Professor Opal, and there was a party thrown in my honor! Not to mention the many PM's I received that were filled with congratulations and 'Good Lucks!'

SC- 4. Have you been put to work in your new house?
PO- Professor Opal is a great boss to work for, the first few days after she let me know that I had earned the position we both talked about what Professor Opal could use help with around Gryffindor. Together we figured what path we see Gryffindor on and the changes we'd like to make. Right now, I've been assigned to do some thread-deletion and clean up, and we both decided to look over the Quibbler and make sure that we get some more issues out monthly, especially since we hired a new editor! A lot of the work I've been doing though is morale boosting and encouraging the students to push, whether point or post-wise, and discussing matters in the PMA of our house.

SC- 5. What has been your favorite moment in your new house?
PO- I have quite a few fond memories from Gryffindor already, but the greatest would have to be me getting shocked at my surprise welcoming party! I entered the house on my first day and found Professor Opal, the Prefects and their Assistants, and all of the other students ready to greet me with music, food, and an all around good time! It was one of the best experiences and it really made me feel like a part of Gryffindor from the get-go.

Easter Interviews
By Rose Granger

I had a chance to interview a few Penshires about what they were doing for Easter, and here is what they are doing.

R:What are you doing for the Easter holiday?
Billy: For the Easter Holiday, my family gets ready for Easter service at my church. Mom and my baby sister really goes all out with the traditional spring-flowered designed dresses, shoes and even hats! The men in the family wear our best suits. Though we go to church every Sunday, this service is special for the joyous reason that Jesus rose from the grave. After the service, we have other family members over, like aunts and uncles, cousins and so on for a huge dinner with ham and other fixings. For the younger set, we hid plastic Easter eggs filled with candy and coins and then each of them gets a basket and we set them off to hunt eggs. When I was younger I was pretty good at finding them, but now that I am older I have fun hidding them. We usually snack all day cause everyone brought something to eat and I love sweets!

R:What are you doing for the Aaster holiday?
Amanda: Nothing really special

R: Do you have any special traditions?
A: When we were younger we always used to get easter baskets for being well behaved during lent. The easter baskets had really cool different kind of candy in them.
R: What kind of food do you have:
A: We used to have macaroni and gravy, you know, the traditional Italian dinner.
R: Thank you Amanda

R: what are you doing for the Easter holiday?
Keato: Well actually this year I'm going to be staying at Hogwarts for the easter holiday, but on easter about half of my family (me included) plan to go eat in Hogsmeade and then spend the rest of the day there.
R: do you have any special traditions?
K: Not for Easter but we do have traditions for almost every other holiday!
R: What kind of food do you have?
K: One word... eggs!  Sometimes he have a full egg meal but this year we will probably have more of a variety of foods!

Thank you Keato, Billy, and Amanda, I hope everyone has a great Easter holiday.
Interview With Shannon Wood
By an adoring fan

As mentioned in the last OG, the house of Gryffindor established a Leos Club to help out around the school. The president of this club is Shannon Wood, a fourth year. With the success of this club growing and growing, I felt it was only necessary that we take the time to ask her a few questions about all she's done:

1. What inspired you to create the Leos Club?
We have the same club in my own school and I seen how it affected our community. So it thought, "Why not this community?"

2. What is the Leos Club and what does it do (for those who don't know)
The Leos Club is dedicated to helping the school

3. What projects are you currently working on?
We are making a masters list for Prof. Opal to delete so she doesn't have to search all the threads

4. What projects do you hope to accomplish in the future?
I'd like to start a tutoring service.

5. What would you tell someone who was unsure about joining, concerning why they should?
Well, we are here to help the students, prefects, and professors. So if you like helping people, this is the club for you

6. What do you feel is the club's biggest achievement so far?
Just being able to help out.
Interview with Lucius Malfoy, a Wannabe World Dominator
By Bob the Ninja

Miss Emma Staunton also asked me to interview another person, whom I did not feel like interviewing. Malfoy isnt exactly the most pleasant person to be around, and after the incident at the base, where I was captured and held against my willone can naturally assume that I do not like him very much, and that is true. However, I was asked to interview him, and I did exactly that. When I began speaking to him, I nearly regretted it. He is not up there with the dictators from houses such as Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, and it seems as though he became a villain yesterday. And when asked about this, Lucius Malfoy said that this was true. That he got the idea from the dictators from other houses, and has not had time to think this through. In fact, while in the Ravenclaw Common Room, several Ravens have told me that Mr. Malfoy is always running about, and saying that his minions are going to be after them, while Miss Gwen Tatham, was the only person who stepped up, and told Malfoy that, in fact, none of his minions actually existed, which seemed to make him incredibly distraught.

Miss Emma Staunton and him have shared a rivalry for sometime, one that seems to have been built on nothing at all, when I asked Miss Staunton about this, she said that it was simply because she did not like Mr. Malfoy sticking his nose into her business, and she didnt appreciate the accusations that she was running a ninja army that wanted to take over Hogwarts either. When I asked Mr. Malfoy about this, he asked me why I didnt like the name Sebastian which seemed to confirm my suspicions about him being completely and totally insane.
Interview With Kaylee Keigwin
By Lynn Jennings

Kaylee Keigwin is the newest Gryffindor to join the Lion's Den. New people are always fun to talk to because it allows you to get to know new faces! I got to sit down with her as she talked to me about her new house and housemates:

1.What do you say your favorite part of Gryffindor is?
Probably the members - everyone's so friendly; I feel really welcomed!

2. How do you like PADs Hogwarts as a whole?
PADs is amazing. There's so much to do, and various ways to earn house points, apart from just doing homework. Plus, the layout of the site is really awesome - props to everyone who helped set that up.

3. Now, there is always room for improvement. Do you think there is anything that you could possibly think could be improved here at PADs?
While PADs is a greeeeat site, I think a simple FAQ would be a great addition to help out new members - it would state basic information, such as how to register for classes, all the different ways to earn house points, etc. I realize this is all stated in the virtual tour, but it can get kind of hard to remember everything said in one slide when it changes periodically, and then have to go to a different slide to figure everything else out. This, of course, is just a suggestion, but I think it would be helpful to new members

4. Who's going to win the house cup this year?
Gryffindor, of course.

5. Who are the people you like most here?
No one in specific - like I said, everyone is really friendly and welcoming

6. Anything else you'd like to say?
PADs rocks! And go Gryffindor!
Interview with the Nargle and Flood Control Ninja
By A Ninja

As both Miss Staunton and Mr. Bob were too busy to conduct the following interview, I was asked to step in instead. The following is an interview with the Nargle and Flood Control Ninja. She was gracious enough to stop looking for nargles, and sit down for an interview so that you, the reader, could learn a bit about her place in the Federation of Ninjas.

Q: When did you find out that you were a ninja?
A: Hm...the day I found out my ninja powers...it was so long ago so I don't even remember. I think it was some time in early autumn.
Q: How and why did you receive your chosen title[s]?
A: I was given my Nargle Ninja title because of my obsession with blaming them for everything. Emma gave it to me.   My Flood Control Ninja title was given to me in the middle of October when I became a prefect assistant. Mainly because of me going post crazy without the flood control. It drove the others nuts so they named me Flood Control Ninja.
Q: I've heard rumors that you are a Coffee Ninja as well as a Nargle Ninja and Flood Control Ninja. Are those rumors true?
A: No, I am not a Coffee Ninja. I am far from it, in fact. I hate coffee and cannot stand the taste.
Q: Does being a ninja interfere with your student life here at Hogwarts?
A: No, not at all. In fact, it makes it more interesting. *shifty*
Q: There are also rumors that you were very friendly with Bob, Ms. Staunton's Coffee Ninja assistant. Is this true?
A: Oh, yes. Only too true. Bob and I go way back.

After answering our questions, she, the ninja, went back to looking for nargles that she claimed were not only behind a door, but also on top of my head.

Interview with the Spy Ninja
By Bob the Ninja

Though there have been many ninjas here at Hogwarts, attending the great school during the past few months, I was finally able to sit down with one of the newest additions to the Ninja Federation, the Spy Ninja.

Q: When did you find out that you were a ninja?
A: I first found out that I was ninja material when a bunch of us were spamming, and this happened:
One of us: Where did Ced go?
Me: I bet he fell asleep on his keyboard...
Ced: How did you know!?
Q: How did your title come about?
A: Well, I am the Spy Ninja because I know stuff that people think that I don't know, but I really do know. It was either that or the Math Ninja. Though math is tasty, I thought I should leave that option open to other math-lovers such as Dawlish or Lucius.
Q: How do you feel now that you're an official member of the Ninja Federation of Hogwarts?
A: To be honest, I was wary about signing 'paperwork', but since I forgot that I had already signed something to the almighty Coffee Ninja as her Christmas present, and so I guess I deserved a position on the Ninja Federation. Besides, I get to use the ninja smilie all the time.
Q: Does being a ninja interfere with your student life here at Hogwarts?
A: You know, I have a busy life and all, but being a ninja is the same as being a part of a club, I would say. And seeing as the rest of the ninjas are students, there's not much difference.
Q: What do you think of being a ninja so far?
A: Well, I like having an extra title to my name that I can intimidate people with. You never know what I know about you....

So there you have it. The exclusive with the Spy Ninjawho knows who this mysterious person really is?they asked to stay anonymous, so you may never know their true identity.
Interview with the Elf Ninja
By Bob the Ninja

As the Leader of the Coffee Ninja instructed me, I tracked down one of the ninjas that she wanted to hear from, and was able to sit down with her. The following is my conversation with the Elf Ninja.

Q: When did you first become a ninja?
-->I became one about mid-January.
Q: What, and how did your title come about?
-->My title is the Elf Ninja, and how I got the title is pretty obvious to me. I'm an elf.
Q: Have you encountered any difficulties as a ninja? Or before you became one?
-->Right now, I don't recall any difficulties as a ninja as of yet, but before I was one, there was definitely a problem.
Q: It is said that you once worked for Lucius Malfoy, a wannabe world dominator. Could you elaborate on that?
-->Yes, I could. One day, Erica tied me to a chair, and I begged to Luc, saying that I'd be his faithful servant if he untied me. He did, and, well, I became his "minion."
Q: What is your opinion on the Federation of Ninjas as a whole?
-->I love it. It's a great organization; fair and fun. I would say it's the good side of good and bad.

Now that the Elf Ninja has been welcomed back into the Federation, the Leader does not fear that they will go back to Lucius Malfoy, as she was a reluctant minion in the first place.
Interview with the Silent/Quiet Ninja
By Bob the Ninja

I was also asked to sit down with the Silent/Quiet Ninja, and Im telling you, finding her was nearly impossible, but I finally spotted her in the Coffee Ninja hangout area speaking with the leader, so I was able to sit down with her, and ask her a few questions.

Q: When did you find out that you were a ninja?
-->I don't know. It just sort of happened.
Q: How did your title come about?
-->I really, really don't like noise. I don't talk if it's unnecessary, loud noises get on my nerves. And I can be very quiet.
Q: Do you like being a ninja?
-->Of course. Who wouldn't?
Q: Your title is the Silent/Quiet Ninja. Could you tell us more about it? Did you make it up, or did Emma give you the title?
-->I think it just fell into place. On missions, I am absolutely silent. I literally don't talk. I don't know why. I also, like I said before, hate noise. I keep it down to a very small minimum.
Q: Is it true that you are adept at getting past security of all kinds? Does this come in handy when trying to infiltrate enemy lines, and can it help you get to the secret Coffee Ninja meeting places?
-->Yes, it is true. I'm very, well, silent, and I'm a small target. I'm hard to see in dark places. I'm also somewhat agile, and people don't really notice me.
Interview with the Ice Cream Ninja
By Bob the Ninja

While I was going around, and interviewing ninjas, I was able to get an exclusive with Ms. Ice Cream, or the Ice Cream ninja. She is known as one of the founders of the Coffee Ninjas as well, and even though she no longer heads the Coffee Ninjas, she has a place in the federation. I was very lucky that she was able to take time out of her busy schedule and answer my questions.

Q: When did you learn that you were a ninja?
A: Well at that time I had a title of Ms. Ice Cream because of my love for it. Then the current ninja head saw they were lacking in ice cream ninjas so here I am.
Q: What are your titles as a ninja, and how many do you have?
A: Well, as I previously mentioned Ice Cream and that's my main title. However, sometimes I'm revealed as the Co-founder.
Q: It is said that you, along with your mentor founded the Coffee Ninjas. Could you tell me more about that?
A: Well, one day we were bored in Spam-o-lot and one of us posted the ninja smiley, and I said it was the coffee ninja and then we made stories about it. After some time, I brought up the story again...and ninjas began appearing...
Q: Are you still apart of the Coffee Ninjas, or have you moved on?
A: I will always be a part of the Coffee Ninjas. After all, one of them heads the faction of ninjas I'm in.
