PADs Hogwarts Invents a House Number Six!

Unlike most RPG-sites, PAD's Hogwarts goes behind the imagination of JK Rowling. Not too long ago, PAD, and her fellow staff members, created a 5th house, Penshire. This house has been, undoubtedly, a success! This house has just as many active members as the four cannon houses and puts up just as much of a fight for the cups as the four cannon houses. On February 4, PAD announced the creation of a sixth house, that will be coming to Hogwarts. The name, is unknown, as students from each of the five current houses get to come up with the name, founder, and motto. What we do know, as that the mascot is a polar bear and that this house will be the perfect haven for dreamers, thinkers, and inventors alike. This house will be situated in the Astronomy tower, and is sure to be the perfect addition to PAD's Hogwarts!

A New House

Recently it was announced to the school that we would be adding a new house to the five that already exist. On top of that large bit of news, the students would also be given the opportunity to think of a house name, founder and motto! This was extremely heavy information, but since then the whole school has been in a buzz. The idea of adding another house has added some freshness to the school. Passing students in the halls, all you hear about is the new house, and it's all anyone can talk about. Everyone seems excited and giddy about it, and it all will finally be set in stone once the summer comes. That's what PAD has announced, but at the moment all we know is that the mascot will be a polar bear, the colors will be purple and silver and it will be located in the Astronomy Tower. The rest is up to us to decide. Let's make it happen, Hogwarts!

Six Houses!

The news came out on February 5th! Hogwarts is getting a sixth house to even the playing field! This house is so intriguing! Polar bears are it�s animal, and Purple and Silver the colors!! It is for the Dreamers, thinkers, inventors, driven, strong, motivated, and compassionate!! How exciting!! So join your house on this month�s IHC and get busy thinking of a Name!!! We have an opportunity to be just like JK Rowing and create something exclusive to the Harry Potter Universe!! I can�t wait to see what everyone comes up with!!!!

Winter Wonderland Dance

January can be a cold and bitter month, but Gryffindor was kind enough to host a dance for the whole school to help ease your winter pains. It was the Winter Wonderland Dance and it started on the 25th! There were quite a few activities to keep you occupied. Aside from the punch and nonstop dancing, there was an array of winter games to check out, as well as a staff contest with mittens! I'm definitely not the best at these contests, but it was fun to check out nonetheless. Judging from the people I spoke to, it sounded like the dance was a success and was an overall good time. Maybe Gryffindor will do this again next year too!

A 6th House? No Way!

The announcement of an upcoming 6th house has caused quite an uproar! It is amazing what excitement such an announcement can bring. I can't believe that we are getting a 6th house. That is AWESOME! I mean, I remember when we still had only the four main houses and then when Penshire was added. It has brought about enthusiasm that I would not have even imagined (almost) was possible. These added houses have also added a little more personality and uniqueness to our dear Hogwarts and separates us from anyone who might try to imitate us. And therefore it is with great happiness that I look forward to the oncoming 6th house and to seeing what great ideas everyone has come up with for creating it.

Points Madness

It is that time again. It is time for Points Madness! It happens every year around this time. Students begin to see the term falling away and the end coming super fast. They hustle to get that hourglass up. The work so hard to win that House Cup and the Glory! Yes, my friend POINTS MADNESS. If you haven�t caught it yet, be wary you will. So what are you going to do to help your house win?

HYBC Picture Day

As many of you already know, Hogwarts Yearbook Club has announced �Picture Day�. This is a chance, for all those at PAD�s to submit to us, a picture that they want to include in the yearbook. We want all members to be included. A few people have asked if staff is included, and the answer is yes. We want every ghost, professor, prefect, student, nurse, and caretaker to be apart of the first ever Hogwart�s Yearbook. Deadline is March 2, 2008 at midnight in all time zones. A few reminders:
o Provide credit for the image you submit (i.e.: deviantart, photobucket, etc.)
o Images are preferred at the standard 200x200 in size (however Luna and I have re-sized those images submitted that were larger. It is just easier if they already are submitted in the correct format.)
o Please include your name, house and year (this is to help us put everyone in the correct section)
o Upload your images, no direct linking. There are free hosting sites, many of which are simple to use.
o Any HYBC member is available to answer any question, and provide help J
o All submissions can be sent to [email protected] , however some people don�t wish to send them through e-owl, so you can also PM them to meJ
o No offensive language or content is allowed, the pictures must still adhere to PAD�s rules. We ask that actual pictures, whether it�s a doll or celeb, be sent. We think it would appear more realistic that seeing a bunch of icon/quote pictures spread throughout the publication.

HYBC has been working hard at organizing, and preparing for the publication. We have a very active member list, and many ideas have been going back and forth about what to include. This year�s theme is Magical Memories, and we cannot wait to get all the pieces put together. Make sure and look for the final publication sometime this summer!
