Slytherin Scoop
By Beonca Aim s

Weve seen some newbies come in, as other houses have, but ours are Slytherin and sorted in the house for a reason. Course they are looking for classes, and Potions is always our number one goal, that and DADA, of course. The house has a Posting war between the Sly Sidewinders and the Cunning Cobras, which was a lot of fun and hope to have another one come January. The games are a popular area, with new and better ways to honor our HOH, and of course there is the Slytherin Dictionary of which renaming other houses is always fun. By this read, we will have had our Slytherin New Years Party and matching time-limited RPs in the common room. The holidays do bring out the best in our snakes, and Christmas, though some have gone to be with family, still sees a lot of activity in the common room.

Penshire Prattle
By Billy Raven

Its always great when students who have left return, we have seen a few and warm welcomes all around! Penshire is always active and many things in the house or for the Shirelings only, so I wont share! (Sticks out tongue) Not only do we have competition between other houses, there are certain things in the house itself that makes it a lot of fun. Another Posting War, this time between the Elves, Santas, Reindeer, and Snowmen was done for the month of December, Elves won, but the Santas came in second. I wont divulge the posting numbers, but it was our best. Samuel Craft was the organizer, and did his usual great job! Cant wait to see what January brings as far as teams and post numbers.

Penshire has been a happening place this month!  We have seen post wars and Penvivior returned.  There are new students and old ones coming back.  We are getting super psyched about our upcoming Quidditch match in January.  Plans are in the works for a Penshire School Wide Dance.  ((Look for more information in the coming months on the Bulletin Board)) We enjoyed our house gift-exchange again this year.  Most of all we have been busy posting and earning points!  So watch out Penshire is on the MOVE!
Girls Cant Read
By Billy Raven
Got your attention ladies? Its sort of an inside joke in the Shire, see, we boys have a thread, for boys only and you know that is just an open invitation for the girls to enter. Like stated, you cant live with them and you cant live without them, but we would like to tryat least in this thread. Only joking, spamming the topics with friendly banter is what its all about anyway, right?
Penvivor!
By Ava Black

Penshire invented! The second season of Penvivior is currently taking place in Penshire's common room.  Contestants are pushed to their limits with certain goals.  There has been homework, club submission and posting goals.  You have to be on the top of your game and try not to get voted off.  The first round of voting saw Rose Granger's torch extingushed. The second saw Andromeda Tonks-Black and Billy Raven voted off.  Who will be gone from Challenge three, it is still anyone's guess.  Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
Posting Crazy!
By Ava Black

Penshire has been been busy with posting this semester.  Think I am lying, well just look at the numbers!  We are close to numbers we only see at the end of term.  Now I won't give the exact number away because I don't want to shock you, but just think of a high number for this time of year and add say 20,000 post!!!  We are on fire and expect to see the highest number ever in Penshire History by the end of term!!

Returning Students

December 2007 marked the return of two dearly missed Ravens: Ashleigh Owen (previously known as Cho Chang #2) and Penny Hung!
Ashleigh immediately (well, after all the paper work and stuff, you know?) joined the games to get to know the newer Ravens. And, of course, she also had new works of art to show us. Isn't she great?
Penny, who used to have a lot of posts in the RCR, came back to us with none. Of course, she started posting as soon as possible. After all, how can she resist the Spam-o-Lot or any of the luxurious games offered in the RCR?

December Point-a-thon!

y Summer Levy

With our Post-a-thon comes our Point-a-thon, organized by the brilliant Miss Gwen Tatham. Again, this Point-a-thon is different from any others we've had before, but I shan't reveal much about it...

Ravens who participate are eligible for AWARDS! Yep, nice, shiny awards, certificates, and trophies to encourage Ravens to keep going and earn more points. The more points you get, the more awards you may receive. In the end, there's even a trophy for the one with the Most Point-a-thon trophies! Isn't this exciting?

Keep going, Ravens! Fly High Breathe Deep!
December Post-a-thon
By Summer Levy

The week of December 3rd to 9th was Ravenclaw's December Post-a-thon. However, this is different from any other that we've had before. This is a Relay Post-a-thon! We weren't sure if it would work out, but all you have to do is try.
So, there were two teams. The first member of each team posts 100 times, and then the next member posts 100 times, and so on. Of course, while you're waiting for your turn, you can still post. The team who had gone through the posting cycle the most wins.
By the way, credit goes to the lovely Myrrima for coming up with this idea ^_^
So, this Post-a-thon ended weeks ago, but it seems like we may have to pester Will for the results...again. And hopefully, this time, we will get the results :)
Keep posting, Ravens! Fly High Breathe Deep!
Home Sweet Home
By Penny Hung

I wonder when was the last time I set foot into the Ravenclaw Common Room... would it be last May? April? June would definately be the latest. Needless to say, it's wonderful to be finally home.. the place where I belong. Now that's a cliche. Ah, well... what's a cliche here or there going to do? Well, the past few days, or day I should say, have been wonderful. Ravens are always welcoming. It nearly feels as if I never left! It feels interesting to be on the other side of the "welcoming committee." I still recall being the one to say hello, to introduce myself... yet here I am, being welcomed by small Ravens who I have never met! It is quite the experience.

When you leave your home for a long period of time and then return, it allows you to percieve things in a different light. In the past, that stupid creak in the stairs used to drive me nuts. Now, when I hear it, it sounds warm, almost as if it is telling you "good morning," or "good night." It teaches you to not take things for granted. After all, I thought I'd never be able to sit in my armchair again! Leaving Hogwarts and then coming back has really been a learning experience for me. I hope I will never take it for granted again.
