| Christmas at Hogwarts
By Beonca Aims You can always tell its the holidays at Hogwarts, and Christmas being a topper as far as decorations and mood. The Headmistress, once again, has done a right fine job of making the place festive. The Great Hall is filled with holiday cheer and the tree with its house color lights makes you feel warm inside. The Entrance Hall too is festooned with seasonal decorations; you linger a bit longer in the glow of the season. Students are friendly, cheerier, and many express Christmas greetings to anyone they pass, no matter what house they come from. Most of the common rooms had their own gift exchanges along with the school-wide one. Its always fun to give gifts, sure receiving is fun too, but the surprise on the persons face when you give them something they did not expect, it by far more fun. I like intangibles, things you cant put a price on, and they last longer too! |
| Safety at PAD's
by Summer Levy This article is dedicated to the lovely Miss Luna Lovegood of Ravenclaw The staff here at PAD's Hogwarts are dedicated towards protecting the students form the dangers of the Internet, providing a safe environment where students can take part in fun activities regarding Harry Potter. PAD's Hogwarts is a RPG site on the Internet, but what is special is that this is a G-rated site. With a team of 30+ staff members, as well as approximately 11 moderators in each respective house common room, students are placed in responsible hands and the staff will ensure that no rules are broken and that everything that takes place is within the G-rating that is set. A G-rating means that it is Good for people of all ages. If such simple rules are broken, rest assured, they are not handled lightly. Punishments range from a warning to being banned from the site. Though doing this may be hard, the admins of PAD's Hogwarts only do this for the sake of the students and their safety. We are all gathered here because of our profound love for the phenomenon known as Harry Potter. What PAD's Hogwarts has to offer takes us far and beyond what J.K. Rowling gave us. Here, we get to experience the hype of the house point competition, the race for the Quidditch cup and Broomstick racing. Classes enhance our knowledge of the universe of Harry Potter and nurtures our imagination. Maybe one day, one of us will have written another series of books and have created another phenomenon. What I'm trying to say is, PAD's Hogwarts is a great site, and you will definitely be safe under the protection of our awesome admins. How else could we have operated for six years and continuing? But remember, it is only if you come to the staff that we know what is going on. Don't be afraid to approach us if you have an issue. On another note, a reminder to never reveal any personal information. That includes your real name, age, and location. As well, if you have a muggle blog, don't share the link here. It's for your own protection that we set these guidelines. Check out Hogsnet in the Annex Building for more information about staying safe on the Internet. So, my fellow classmates, if your parents are wary about you being a member of PAD's Hogwarts, show them this article to help convince them it is safe. Good luck with that! ^_^ |

| The Shopping Trip!
By Summer Levy Just at the beginning of the month, weeks before the Yule Ball, the staff brought to the students the Third Annual Shopping Trip! Kicking off at Hogsmeade on December 1st, students had until December 6th to do all necessary shopping there before taking the Hogwarts Express to London's Diagon Alley (and maybe Knockturn Alley, if you had supervision, or know your way around...). The students then made their way back to Hogwarts on December 14th, back in time for the joyous occasion known as the Yule Ball! Those who were smart used this opportunity to buy Christmas presents and their Yule Ball formal wear. Some even got to play in the snow! Those who decided to hide in their rooms to do homework during the trip ended up with Christmas present trauma later on. Hope you all had a great time. Can't wait until the Fourth Annual Shopping Trip! |
