My Best Friend
By Masi

My best friend isn't just a pretty face, she works hard at all she has to do. She earns points like a machine. She really has it going on. She's always there to lend a hand, always has a hug for anyone who needs one. She can make me laugh, she makes me cry. Without her Penshire wouldn't be as great a place as it is. She can be very forgiving, but isn't above sending out some almost hate mail when you are falling down on the job.  She always has a little time to spare when I'm lonely or scared. I know she's very busy and doesn't have much time to spare, but she will at least give a hello, a hug and a warm smile before she has to go. No matter what else happens Ava Black has got your back and wins the first prize in my book.  Thank you Ava for all that you do. I don't think I could make it if it weren't for you.
A Hufflepuff Heartache
By MoD

So, as you know many relationships are formed here at Pads. Long lasting friendships and school day rivalries. Many are formed inside the house Common Rooms, but some extend even further, to cross the barriers at the Bulletin Board and having so many contacts its unbelievable. The major one, which there are many of, happen to be typical to teenagers. What am I talking about? Having a girlfriend or boyfriend of course! Many form over time, some having extremely strong bonds throughout, and are not usually things that are done quickly. This however was not the recent case. A certain young Hufflepuff, who I am not going to name, has been boy hunting! I have information that this person asked several different boys out in merely a couple of weeks! This would be understandable if it was coming for a Gryffindor say, since they happen to have a distinct lack of boys there. I am not encouraging this however! This type of behavior clearly demonstrates that she is desperate. One St. Mungos expert said that it clearly shows this person to have a slight issue with being alone. To make things worse the majority of the boys were not free. Most of the boys in question were either with someone or clearly interested in other girls. So a warning goes out to everyone. This is something many of us wouldnt ever dream of, let alone do outright. If I catch this person, who will almost certainly know its her, doing this again, she will know. Only this time she wont be so anonymous!! Be warned, MoDs in town!

Upcoming news; Lynexe now owns a ...
By Lynexe Couronne

So my darling house is hosting our first ever Pajama Party, and I'm sure it's also one of the first ever in the entire castle! And as striking as it sounds, nearly every Shireling who's planned to attend also plans to bring some sort of trinket. Or in simpler words, a stuffed animal.

It was then brought to my short-minded attention that I didn't own anything like a stuffed animal. Sure, there's that long white blanket that I'd occasionally sling over my shoulder to have something comfortable to lie on outside or on the rare occasions where I do attend a sleep over. But a stuffed animal? Never. So there I go, asking around in hope that someone might suggest an animal that might just suit me well enough. Something that might not make me drown with all the "CUTIE, *mumblemumbleADORABLEmumblemumble*" kind of talk, and something not too scary in case some newbie thinks I'm awfully too weird.

And out of the blue, comes Professor Ripley to the rescue! And my dear schoolmates, as hard as it is to believe, your dear Lynexe Couronne now owns a lovely, yesh it's cute, racoon
Happy House Elves
By Fiona Chauvet
I confess that at one point I was a firm believer that all house elves should be set free and that including Hogwarts, the treatment of these poor creatures was disgusting. I took a trip down to the kitchens and wanted to find out once and for all how these creatures live in this school. To some peoples surprise, the house elves love it here at Hogwarts. Not only do they enjoy each others company, but they love being visited by students.
I love it very muchly to see the childrens come down here to visit, said Buttons, a small house elf who helps make our delicious breakfasts each morning. Weve never been treated this well before. Each elf had something positive to say about the school, and besides the praises, I was given handfuls of donuts and cookies to take with me. I guess I looked malnourished, or they just love giving away food. Either way, it was plain to see these elves have never been in a better situation. We can only hope their situation will improve as time goes on, but for now I dont think theyd want to be anywhere else.
To Our Prefects
By Fiona Chauvet

The end of the year is almost upon us, and it feels like just yesterday we were starting the term. Time sure flies, dont it? Well, I think its important we recognize the hard work our Prefects have done this past year. They have helped out the school a lot, and they sure deserve a pat on the back for all theyve done. I really can only go into detail about my own Prefects, since I see what they do every day in my common room, but Im sure all prefects do the same in their own houses.
Thank you Audrea, Kristin and Felicity for being there for Gryffindor. Even at times when your personal life kept you away from Hogwarts, you still managed to take the time and do your part in the house, plus some. You guys always manage to hang out in the game section with us, plan activities for the house, and of course tend to your prefect duties. You were amazing and everyone in the house has appreciated your hard work. Thanks for being great Prefects. <33
