Valentine's Day Hogwarts' Style
By Katlin Sawyer

In February we celebrated Valentine's Day here at Hogwarts. To some folks, this holiday may not mean a whole lot, but the folks here at Hogwarts made sure that it was an extra special event for everyone at Hogwarts to enjoy!

The festivities started off with the Valentine's Day Exchange program. This was a small shop set up for everyone to send special things to your friends, teachers, & sweethearts for Valentine's Day. Everything was free & one shop from each house co-op donated items for the VDE program. There were so many fun & romantic things you could send & you could even fill out your own personal note to go with them! From candy to stuffed animals to flowers to novelties...you name it, the VDE supplied it! Taylor Wallace of Ravenclaw, Summer Levy of Ravenclaw, & Amanda Dasaro of Hufflepuff worked endlessly on Valentine's Day delivering all the packages to everyone that needed to be delivered. Thanks, guys, for working so hard for us! You did a great job!!

The next kicker was the house of Penshire sponsoring the Valentine's Day Dance in the Great Hall. The dance was a week-long event that took place from February 12th through February 18th. Accompanying their dance was a coloring contest you could enter & an RPG on the BB. Thanks, Penshires, for putting this all together for us!!

The final thing that put the spirit of the season in the air was PAD's Great Hall decorations as usual. She always outdoes herself & this year was no different. A huge banner hung above the fireplace that said "Happy Valentine's Day Hogwarts" & there were cherubs blowing heart kisses floating on either side of it. To add to the fun, the staff also put together another famous Staff Contest for the students to have a go at. This time the contest was to identify which staff member would give out which type of Valentine's Day card. It was really clever & I would be lying if I even remotely thought I got more than 5 right! LOL! Thanks PAD & the other staff members for those special little touches that always make the holidays so fun & festive around here!!

In closing, I would just like to say this is the most fun I've ever had on Valentine's Day in my life (even though I could only attend the dance for a very short time). I will never look at Valentine's Day the same way again!
Valentines Day Exchange
By Ava Black

Valentines day is a big deal here at Hogwarts. Students love to show how much they love their friends and Professors. This year many shops donated wonderful presents for Hogwarts members to exchange. Taylor headed the exchange and did a great job. She was helped out by Amanda. The two worked hard to hand out the many gifts throughout the day. So I would like to say Thank You to all who helped make this a great success!!
Tri-Wizard Tournament
By Hilary Stevens

As you may or may not know, Professor Yalva Pendragon is having another go at the Tri-wizard tournament. We are well under way in the first task, which happens to be dragons. The task is 'suspended' at the moment since the Professor has had to leave us for a while, but she'll be back, no doubt! But here's a small info bite for you!
Playing for Slytherin is Jenni Chang, who's picked the Chinese rainbow dragon.
Shalamar Magoo is Penshires' representative, who's playing against the Iceland Mountain Wyvern Dragon.
Zoey Taylor from Hufflepuff picked out the Transylvania Rock Dragon.
After much discussion and voting, Gryffindor picked Roxanne Whitez as their champion, since they're old one, who this reporter believes to have been Aerwin, left. Roxanne picked out the Silvertail Dragon to play against.
And last but certainly not least is Andela Schmorgie playing for Ravenclaw. She picked out the Artic Frost Dragon.
There will be more updates on this in the coming months, so keep your eyes peeled and be ready to cheer for your champion!!
CAUGHT!

Slytherin

Linda Danes - Although just a recent transfer into the house of Slytherin, Linda has already made herself at home and seems to be a fixture around the house. I caught Linda showing house spirit, pitching in with house duties and having a great attitude. Even better, I caught her teasing Kiley Blaire (way to go!) and telling everyone how awesome Sera is! Great job Linda. We're glad to have you!

Beonca Aims
- Beonca has been a part of this school since it began, and is an important part of the house of Slytherin. Even while her muggle life has been keeping her very busy, I caught Beonca contributing to house activities, bringing information from the BB to the CR and pitching in to do her part for the house as much as she can! Great job Beonca, you make Slytherin proud!

Ravenclaw

Amber Thatcher has been caught! Having only joined the site for only four months, Amber has been very enthusiastic from the very beginning about what PAD's has to offer. She has been very active, especially in the games, which earned her the title of "Queen of the Games" in the RCR. This girl is full of house spirit and participates in house activities. Good job, Amber!

Punjabi Kori has been caught! She is one of Ravenclaw's finest poets, and the one who organized an official Ravenclaw Rap (published in OG Issue 39). This talented Raven has graced us with her great poetry and we are proud to hear that she has won the February Poetry Contest! Keep up the good work, Pun!

Gryffindor

Will Sutton
has been caught! Although Will has had some computer problems recently, he's been a great member of the house and has great house spirit. Will has been very active in the games section and tries to lend his help where ever he can. Thanks for your house spirit, Will!

Fiona Chauvet has been caught! Fiona has been a member at PAD's for about a year, but recently she has been contributing to the house immensely. She's helped out the Quibbler greatly by writing many articles and is an active poster. Thanks for all that you do, Fiona!
