| Ravenclaw Rap
By Punjabi Kori In the Ravenclaw Common Room we have been busy doing all types of things. In the past few weeks, however, we have all put our singing and rhyming talents to use! Us Ravens have formed an Actual Rap for our house of Ravenclaw! All of the us have worked very hard on this and have really put in some heart. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do! Us Ravenclaws got Pride, We know how to stride. Don't think that we're just smart geeks, The people here are so unique. We don't need to follow the status quo, For us Ravens Set the Flow! Nerds, Partiers, Punks, and girlie girls, Make up the house we think rules!! Not just studies but Quidditch too, We always star in all we do. We're there for each other when someone's down, If you need a shoulder to lean on we're always around. Watch out when you see the bronze and blue, We try for the best in all we pursue. Us Ravens know the drill, and we follow it with great skill. We're compassionate and kind, Our loyalty to this house is truly divine! And Near Our Heart these words we keep: Fly High, Breathe Deep!! ravenclaw.gif A Special thanks in writing this rap goes to Summer, Melanie, Raelyn, Taylor, and myself! |

| What Describes a Ravenclaw?
By Myrrima Goldenleaf I've been a member of the wonderful house of Ravenclaw for three years now, and I must say I can't think of a better house to be a part of! Some of you may wonder what describes a Ravenclaw. Well, I'll tell you. You may know the common things, like that we're clever and love to learn, but what does being a Ravenclaw really mean? To me being a Ravenclaw means I will have wonderful friends who are always cheerful, and if they aren't, we'll all think of ways to cheer them up. There will be fun-filled days...and yes, some of us like to play pranks! We have a sense of humor, and there isn't a single Raven who wouldn't be willing to lend a helping hand to anyone, newbie or old friend. Some of you may have noticed how we've been in last place for the House Cup for a while this year, but we haven't given up on it yet. So just so the rest of you know, we're still here, and we're still fightin', because there is one thing you can say about a Ravenclaw: they won't go down without tryin'. |

| Newbies and Returns
By Beonca Aims The latest influx of new students consists of Kristoff Cyanide, like the name? He started his intro with Guten Tag!, such a friendly greeting. Cambridge Marie is another one; she instantly suggested some nicknames saving the Namemornator the trouble. We have a brother and sister duo join, twins no less, Gabriella and Gabriel Murphy, though he claims to be older by minutes, does that count? Zyrah Lyam has been a breath of fresh air with her character bio, she is definitely someone you all might want to get to know. Andrew Cade made a return, as did Loriel and of course you know Tom Riddle has graced us once again with his presence. He first appeared as a memory, but now has a corporal body. We arent sure if it due to the nickname he got and detests, Memorex or the fact he wanted to hug the girls and couldnt with being a memory and all. We got a transfer from Gryffindor also, Linda Danes, apparently one goal or New Years resolution is to get the house of Gryffindor to defect to Slytherin, but I dont see that happening anytime soon. |

| Slytherin Scoop
By Beonca Aims The common room, as every house will tell you, is hopping. We just won a game of Quidditch against the Ravenclaws; it was a hard won game as they had a good team, though many were playing for the first time as some of our team members were too. We are moving down to the Tri-wizard stands to support out champion, Jenii Chang, and working on cheers and banners to show this. We have just seen Tom Riddle return, first as a memory, but now Tom has a body! Magic? Yeah, you could say that. Draco Malfoy started a book club and we voted on which HP book to discuss first, why is no one surprised it was Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince. A really good discussion is coming out of this one and of course centers on Snape and Dumbledore. The nicknames are flying around, but if you arent privy to the list, then you might be lost as to who is who around the common room and at Hogwarts in general. Its fun to watch the RPs inwhich the vampires and were-beings are meeting and having some interesting adventures. |

| Penshire Prattle By Ava Black Penshire is having another successful month. We had a great post-a-thon and earned well over 5000 post. Our house post total is steadily rising. We have welcomed several new students over the past month and it has been a very active time. We are still on top for House points at press time. I know that the writing club had double points day and Penshire took advantage of that to earn some extra points. By the time this is published we should have our 14th installment of the Wizard Diegest out as well. Lastly, We are looking forward to a great match against Hufflepuff. |

| Our House
By: Dakota Tallfeahter Every house is unique; as each member of such would tell you and we are no different. Our house has a great variety of members, some transfers, some new, some returning, and some originally from there and been here awhile. This creates a great atmosphere for companionship, friendship, teasing, support, and just plain fun. Our Head of House is not only funny, but serious when he needs to be; he cheers us on and helps us with problems. What I like about Hufflepuff is you can make mistakes, ask forgiveness, and it is given, then prove you're self to have learned from it all and get the support needed to move on. So we have our spats, but we don't hold grudges and we don't let it interfere with staying unified. Oh we have our inside jokes, like Zoey and her perchance for hiding moccasins and raising eight goats. Ron being the house heartthrob, and Katie's habit of adding '-ness' to the English vocabulary. And then there is Kamron, the first to tell you he is an X-Slytherin, but we think he was just sorted wrong that day because he sure has proved to us he is a Hufflepuff through and through. The Huffs really do work together on Inner-house contests, and encouraging each other to work on the Transfiguration Today, plus, of course lessons and the SSC. The welcome threads in Hufflepuff are filled with welcomes from everyone, as it is important to make that first impression, we want everyone to stay. We are grateful when someone transfers to our house, it means they wanted to be there and we accept them with open arms! So, are we any different then other houses? We sure feel that way! |

Weve also revamped our quidditch team for our upcoming game against Penshire at the beginning of Feb. It now consists of Zoey Taylor, Maya Parker, Isabella Malfoy, Amanda Dasaro, Kevin Whitby, Kamron Flame, Cookie Minwaggle, with Cassidy Smith as an Alternate. |

| What's up in Gryffindor
By Kristin Johnson Well, so many things, so little time. First off I am actually having time to write an article. Ok, so that isn't news. Anyways, Gryffindor has been going through some changes lately. First off, Aerwin Turner and Manda Black have now gone. They decided to remain home after the winter holidays. Leah Black almost did but she decided to return, a little late, but she returned. And blonde to boot! As for the Quidditch team, everyone better watch out. A whole new team is currently in the works with Felicity Hedwig at the helm. Co-Captain is myself. So for the rest of the year all should fear Gryffindor's team. We have recently lost two others as well. Adrianna La Cerva has changed houses and is now a Hufflepuff. Hope you have fun in your house Ade. We also lost Linda Danes to Slytherin about the same time. Have fun in your new house Linda. But with the absence of Adrianna, Gryffindor was in the need of a new Prefect Assistant. We are pleased to announce Gawyn Crossguard is now one of Gryffindor's proud Prefect Assistants. Hopefully he won't get scared with all of us girls around. What else is left? Ah yes, the post counts! In the lead is Leah Black with just over 21,000 posts. In second is myself (alright, so I am mentioned many times in this article) with just over 15,000. And in third is our very own Professor Opal having recently hit 9,000 posts. One last note: Congrats to Roxanne Whitez for winning the position of representing Gryffindor in the Tri-Wizard Tournament. Hope you all enjoyed the Gryffindor update and be ready for more in the future! |
