| Last month of the Year: Update
By Roxanne Whitez Well, as the months of this year have quickly passed by us and now we stand at the brink with another year to start anew, here's just a quick overview of Gryffindor's last Calendar of the month. Nothing could possibly start the month better than some reunions and as far as certain Gryffindors could remember, some have signed up quickly for the RPG Mix-Up event. It was a simple yet interesting idea, where Gryffindors would be put together in a group with housemates they didn't know too well, and were set off to meet together for a day. It was a great success of course, with housemates laughing and smiling over the smallest things they never knew of each other. Lasting an entire week, it was a great idea, and a definite event to keep in mind for the New Year. Following closely after is our monthly Point-o-Thon, not that anyone notices that we have one almost every month. Perhaps some missed out due to the holiday season, but Gryffindors once again came together and were striving for points. Given right after was a house party, though it never took place, students were out together in the common room with hot choco, or either shopping for gifts. Sabrina, a housemate who has yet to come back to us, celebrated her birthday on the 20th, followed by the one and only Headmistress on Christmas Eve. You wouldn't want to count how many gifts our Headmistress received. xP Only a couple of days after came our Prefect, Kristin Johnson with her own dear birthday and followed by our former housemate and House reporter, Callista Romalda. But until the New Year, the Gryffs still roar their loudest, wishing you the best of your holidays! |

| Gryffindor's Potential New Couple
By Megan Miller So, last month this reporter had promised to keep everyone up to date on the happenings in Gryffindor house when I re-introduced the gossip article. As mentioned in last month's article, Roxanne Whitez and Gawyn Crossguard are viewed to this reporter and some others as potentially becoming Gryffindor's newest couple. The two were seen together at the Yule Ball earlier this month and also went on a trip together to Roxanne's homeland to be present for the birth of her new baby sister (which was also mentioned in last month's article.) While there, Roxanne gave Gawyn a present; an adorable Siberian Husky puppy by who was later named Oden. While seen together in Hogsmeade also, rumor is that Gawyn also questioned Roxanne about her status to which she replied that she was single, then he asked her about past relationships and boyfriends and such. Will these two get together? Only time will tell! See next month's article for more information on these two and hopefully some others. |

| Last of the last. The points.
By Roxanne Whitez Here's to the last of the last. The last month of the year. The last update of the points, for now of course. But this might bring a surprise to some, while others might go and say that they knew it was going to happen if you truly did keep up with the updates. But Linda Danes has come through first. Through many months of 'competing' if that is what you would call a friendly talk over games, the dark brunette has come through with a hundred points over the Prefect Assistant and former Prefect, Leah Black. Not that the redhead is surprised, it seems like she has been expecting a break through from the hardworking housemate of hers. Next follows up Kristin and Aer, the good best friends with one k being the raft between them, with the other Prefect Assistant, Adrianna La Cerva or formerly known as "Doc", with 11k herself. After quite a distance, or amount of points, Megan Miller comes in with 8ooo posts herself, as yours truly slowly but strongly follows with over 7,5k. The other Black on this billboard, Kalie, is close behind with over 7ooo posts, Our dearest HoH stays firmly as well as Amber following in their positions, taking up the last two slots as they hold their standings with nearly 7k and 5k each. Until the upcoming month, this is the last Update. Surprising? |

| Update - Gryffindor
By Gryffindor House What is going on at the Gryffindor Common Room? Have you ever heard of the secret Mission? Is it still running? You bet! Quite surprisingly, this MoD hasn't given us more updates about them happening in our CR. Although it has seemed that since the last update the participating members of the secret mission, and especially Professor Opal, are acting less suspicious. We can only assume that they don't want any of the Lions to find out anything further about anything going on at the CR. The secret mission seems to contain out of letting the posting number increase, but also to bring more fun and activities to the CR. The Head of House posted some things during these past weeks, and the Lions seem eager to participate wherever she mentions anything. Let it be a revamped Birthday-Committee that will be in charge of having parties for the Gryffindor students, or the soon to come Dorm-Finder that will help finding the right roommate. There is even a Dance Contest going on at the common room, started by no one else than the long lost and just returned Lion Cory Whitebird. As you can see, the mission has spread out and contains no longer just out of posting as much as you can, but also having even more fun than before. If you ask some of these housemates, it was about time to start such a mission, and they would be glad to inform you that the lions seem to be at least glad about this. But watch out: the mission is spreading all over the castle, soon! So, prepare yourself for having even MORE fun! |

| Welcoming Lions New and Old!
By Megan Miller Ah, the month of December, probably one of the best months ever because of Christmas and New Year's. This month was also popular for Lions new and old to join us in Gryffindor's den. Welcome to new Lions: Lorie Miller, Lily Duncan, Hilary Stevens, Angela Depp, Master Maker and Kururu Espoire. I'm sure each and every one of these individuals' lights will shine very brightly here in Gryffindor and we wish you all the best. Now to welcome back to our old Lions who all had busy muggle lives to attend to, causing them to take an extended absence for a while but are back now: Mish Patel, Jack White, Cory Whitebird and Sonic. Good to have all of you back! |

| Change in the Hufflepuff Staff
By Zoey Taylor This month Huff has gone through several changes in the common room staff. Weve welcomed Ronald Weasley as he has agreed to step up from his prefect assistant position to become our third prefect. And as his replacement weve welcomed our old prefect from last term, Cookie Minwaggle who has finally returned to us after a long break of doing something muggle related. Weve also welcomed newcomer Maya Parker as our other new prefect assistant after the transfer of our former one, Jenii Chang, to Slytherin. I know all three of them will do an excellent job, and we are all really proud to have them in our house! |

| Hufflepuff Happenings
By: Zoey Taylor This past month in Hufflepuff we have finished up some contests we had going on from last month, including the face painting contest with Ciria Cresentlight coming in first place and a candy design contest with Ronald Weasley coming in first place. Congrats guys! We also had a big post-a-thon this month with the Battling Badgers, who consisted of Professor Lockhart, Isabella, Katlin, London, Kevin, Mariah, Angus, Felicity, Jenii, Max, Ryana, and Cassie, all going up against the Badger Brains, which included Lucius, Cookie, Maya, Amanda, Ron, Elizabeth, Kamron, Dakota, Jessie, Julia, and myself. It was a great success overall as we gained over close to 12,000 posts but in the end the Badger Brains came out on top, so congratulations to my teammates for the win! Some of the new members weve welcomed this month are Aden and Alison McAllister, Amy Truise, Brianna Andreis, Cassidy Smith, Emily Potter, and Holly Forbzi. |

| Hufflepuff Rumours
By a spying hufflepuff Hufflepuff, a place of loyalness and kindness? Not a chance! In this article I will expose the secrets that the rest of Hogwarts arent meant to know. First we start with the root of all Hufflepuffness Professor Lockhart...did you know that after every transfigurations lesson he climbs upon the roof of the north tower and talks to passing owls, now there is some who really has gone cookoo. If you think thats bad, you should meet his senior prefect, also known as Zoey the escort body protection for male Hufflepuffs only service, she thrives on keeping the Hufflepuff girls at bay, but not only that she secretly sleeps with a Professor Lockhart autograph under her pillow. It is also rumoured that both Ron and Issy are secretly meeting out by the lakes after midnight, and you will never guess what they are doing...Playing wizard chess! Wizard chess at midnight, they must be mad! Also it has been spotted that Amanda has been collecting toe nail clippings from the floor of the Common Room and building a life size robot from them not that is some talented work! Cookie and Maya have been spotted inside the Prefect Toilets discussing the best ways to dance like a chicken! I mean there are better dances out there than that, like the fast food dance! This is all for Hufflepuffs Rumours for this month, read again next month to find out what the students of Hufflepuff get up to behind closed doors! |

| Bager Point Brawl
Cassidy Smith Between the days of December 1st and December 17th, Hufflepuff students had a House Point contest. During the contest named Badger-Point-Brawl 9 Hufflepuff students made a total of 7584 points. Zoey Taylor was the winner of the contest with an amazing sum of 2360 points during the Brawl. Other honorable mentions, with over 900 points a piece, are Kaitlin Sawyer with 935, Cassidy Smith with 1674 and Kamron Flame with 1395. The Badger Point Brawl got the house of Hufflepuff in third place for the House Cup. There were many bets riding on the contest including one between Kamron and Zoey. This was not continued due to busy holiday schedules. The winner if continued would have been Zoey, but it was not. Most of the Hufflepuff have commented on how much fun they had trying to beat their fellow badgers. Maybe the Huffys will do this again with a prize this time. |

| Look out!
By a certain Hufflepuff Seems there is a vampire running around Hufflepuff stalking people. She has been watching people with out their knowledge. No one could have seen it coming, but now its happened. Ryana Cartenich is the culprit! She sits in the shadows, wearing her black cloak and hears everything. Seems like shes plotting something, what could this be? Everyone should start checking under their bed before they go to sleep, because apparently shes known for listening to what people say in their sleep and recording it. Check your closets, check your shoesyou never know where shes hiding. Watch out all you Hufflepuffs, this girl just might be right behind you right now! |

| Hufflepuff and Penshire House Chat.
By Cassidy Smith During the House Chat on the weekend of the 1st of December, there was everything you could have wished for and more. The Penshire Quidditch team gained many supporters over the weekend. There were many active participants during the chats, especially Penshires Bryony Casten, Araceli Mendoza and Thomasina Sealy. Also active was Hufflepuffs Purple-Haired Prefect Zoey Taylor. Bry says For the most part, the SC House Chat with Hufflepuff was a great success-- the best one I've been a part of so far, at least. Although there was the minor problem of the Great Hall Chat rebelling against some people, it was easily solved by moving the chat up to the PCR. Perhaps because it was a Quidditch weekend, or perhaps because we just got lucky, there was almost always someone there every day of the weekend. I got to talk to a lot of people I wouldn't normally converse with, and overall had a really great time. Celi says I thought that, except for a few exceptions, it went quite smoothly. It was quite fun to go into a chat room, and automatically find someone there to talk to! I was really sad when it was over! Masi says I had a wonderful time, meeting with the Huffs, I found out that Huffs are about as weird as the "shirelings" rotfl.gif Zoey Says The chat over all went really great, I got to see nearly all of my friends from the Penshire house and it was nice to get to chat with everyone together. I also got to know some of my own newer housemates a little better, even if there was some sort of little fox/wolf/animal running around growling at me. unsure.gifNevertheless I can't wait to do it again sometime! Most of the Hufflepuffs and Penshires agreed that the chat was a lot of fun. |

Penshire would like to thank Sam for all he does to help our house run smoothly and feel like family!! Congratulations Sam!! Welcome to Emmalee, Bella, Avery, Morty, Taylor, Issabella, and Lacy!!! We had another victory in Quidditch - Which we are very proud of. So what will the New Year bring? | Penvivor
Ava Black Penvivor has finally come to an end. After several grueling competitions it was narrowed down to Bryony Casten, Shalamar Magoo and Ava Black. The three were asked to complete a new shop in the last week of competition. Three fantastic shops were made and the house decided on the winner - Bryony. However the surprise twist was even by winning the last two challenges Bry had not done enough! Ava Black was declared the winner. But truelly it is Penshire that has won! Three new shops have been added to the co-ops for all to enjoy! |

| Ravenclaw's New Year's Resolutions
by Summer Levy As the new year approaches us, the Ravens have a number of New Year's Resolutions we'd like to achieve throughout the course of the year. Like all other houses, we the Ravens would hope to earn more House points. Lessons, contests, spamming, we'll do them all! We need to work together more closely and more often, so that each and every Raven are acquainted with the others. That would promote inter-house unity. Also, we'll try our best to win at least one monthly or Inter-House contest. Another thing we all need to improve is to make an effort to stay active in RPGs. We love RPGs so this resolution should be no problem! A year from now, we'll see if we've achieved all these goals. Happy New Year! |

| What's Happenin' In Slytherin
By: Jenii Chang There are tons of reasons to become a Slytherin. While I tell you about all that is happening in there, you will begin to see a few of them. We had an incredibly fun Point-A-Thon and Kiley Blaire the Nicknamanator one. Reason number one to switch, we do fun contests. We had two incredibly awesome clubs started. First, Jenii started the Spirit Club, and then shortly after, Saya started Slytherin Sweethearts. Reason number two to switch, we have great clubs. Congratulations to Beonca and Lily on becoming our PAs. Reason number three to switch; we have the best HOH, prefects, and prefect assistants. Another thing that happened is Sera lost a bet and had an "interesting" siggie. Reason number four to switch; you won't want to miss the next bet. Sera, became our new Quidditch Captain. Reason number five to switch; we have an amazing quidditch team. See, there is a reason Slytherin would win an award for "Most students switched into". |

| Peer-Voted Slytherins of the Month
By: Jenii Chang The students of Slytherin tried hard to choose just one Slytherin of the Month this month, but it proved to be an impossible task. We had to settle on TWO Slytherins of the month. Seraphina Rosehill and Jennifer Kull! I don't know what Slytherin would do without these two girls. Sera was voted for because she is incredibly helpful. She is also very kind, patient, and tolerant. She is always fair. Sera is just wonderful! Jen-Jen has done so much for the house. Jen-Jen is so fun and great to be around. She also has incredibly fun snakes. Both these girls are a huge part of Slytherin. We love them both! |
