Penshire Student of the Month
By Ava Black
This month Penshire would like to congratulate Riley West as Penshire of the Month. Riley joined in June after much begging from Ava Black. Since then she has opened a shop and managed to accumulate well over 1000 post. Riley is always there for a kind word of encouragement or just to cheer her team on at Quidditch. She is one of the many creative people that make our house so special. So, Riley ~ Congratulations you are this months Penshire of the Month.

Professor of the Month
By Ava Black
This month Penshire would like to recognize Professor Delia Macintosh. Professor Delia worked hard this summer on the summer club. She is the teacher of History of Magic. Professor Macintosh is always around to help out. I hope you will check out her class located on the second floor. Congratulations Professor Delia, you are Penshires Professor of the month!

The house of Penshire has been hard at work for this past month. With class registrations already open as well as the start of classes, we have also been quite busy. All of our active members in the house had selected their classes and signed-up for them, making the Prefect's job quite hectic. Yet, we do not mind, as it puts smiles on our faces to see the members getting active.
We would also like to welcome the following students to the house: Rob Henderson, Neona Londen, Liza Nedbird, Abraxia Darkmore, Sarah Pewter, and Bunny Grant. All of those new students have been posting as well as enjoying themselves in the house. Also, our second house Posting War will take place September 25th-October 2nd. Our two teams are Weasley's Weirdos led by Ava Black and Potter's Peeps lead by myself.
Now, here is an update on our posting. For the last week (Sept. 18th-22nd), the house has been getting a total of 1,000 posts per day! That makes 5,000 posts in just a week! I cannot wait to see what is going to happen during our Posting Wars, as I'm sure our numbers will just be amazing!

What a month it has been for Penshire. We started our first Quidditch match of the year and I must say we are rocking that game! Dont think it didnt come with lots of practice because that is exactly what Penshire did this summer. Penshire had been trailing in points holding steady in second place for sometime, only to finally be back on top! Go Penshire! Many students have begun their studies and the common room is booming with activity. Summer is gone and the Fall is looking to be a wonderful time for the Cranes!!
Hufflepuff and the Personal Domains

The idea originated from our Head Prefect, a personal thread titled with her name, and the idea has grown! I, my self, have a teepee up, and Ron Weasley has a mansion, Kate Sawyer a hatch, Catrina has a labyrinth, and there are others. The Huffs visit each and in some get lost, put on war paint, or play miniature golf. The next idea is to actually build some of these and attach the image to the thread. That way, others can see the places and the RPGing will get even more fun. The skies the limit on space and even time, as the saying goesits magic! Weasley mansion is no burrow thats for sure as he has an indoor and outdoors pool, bowling alley, miniature golf, and a game room! Course my teepee is more toned down, it just has some animal skins, and a center fire pit, but we are putting on war paint and banging drums! As a matter of fact, if you PM Prof. Ripley on the BB & tell her you want to bang your drum in my teepee, she will give you points! She said you have to do this by October 15th to get said points AND you can only PM her on the BB (not from your CRs).

Well the house has seen a group of newbies arrive and we were graced with the return of one Katlin Sawyer, who tells us she used to be here a while back, had to leave and has now returned full force. She was in another house before, but we dont hold that against her, as we have accepted Kamron with open arms, so do we Kate! I would name some of them right now, but I will wait until they post a tad more so we are sure they will hang around! The house is working on the two latest contests, but mums the word.     Right now, our Head Prefect is off again on vacation, so the mice are playingthere has been an old smelly, moldy bologna sandwich appearing in lockers being passed around and there is also some talk of a certain dirty undergarment, which shall remain nameless. The Huff guys have banded together and made one Super Dorm for the whole male population in the house and they are working on a party right now, should be loud and fun, if you are a guy.
Ravenclaw Rap
By Penny Hung
As the new school year has returned, and friendships have been forged and broken, our house has come together. Old students, never forgotten, have returned, new students have arrived, and new teachers have come to teach. Ravenclaw has acquired TWO NEW MENTORS, Penny Hung (meeee), and Will Potter (WOOT!). We are sure that they will do an excellent job, and they have already taken on some ickle firsties! Let's give a round of applause to them, and wish them luck! (Oh, and if anyone has found any missing boxes of sugar quills, please send them to Penny Hung, Ravenclaw. Thanks!)
Straight From the Slytherin Confessional

Seraphina Rosehill ~ I confess that Jen can always be bought off with treats...
I confess that I am more than 'a bit' sneaky...
Rainy Dae ~ I confess that I spend money on myself all the time.

Paige Conners ~ I confess that I don't like pizza that much anymore.
Wednesday Addams ~ Why are baby turkeys so cute, but when they grow up they are ugly? I mean baby bunnies still are cute when they get big, and so are kittens, but turkeys?

Welcome to all new Gryffindors!
By Megan Miller
With the welcome of a fresh, brand new term, Gryffindor house also wishes to extend our warmest greetings to all new students who have been sorted into our house. We are pleased to welcome: Seven Granger, Ellie Davidson, Millskelly11, Molly O'Laven, Isabell Magnolia, Ariel Wenter, Viktor Krum, Hermy Own and Ashlee Conway. We look forward to having all newbies here with us to show their house, and school, spirit and to help us in our quest for this year's House Cup!
Although there are many new students joining us in Gryffindor, we have also had to bid our fondest farewells to Sabrina Spellman and Miss Andie Granger. Both girls have some things to sort out in their busy muggle lives and they go with every housemate's warmest wishes. We hope to see them back again once their muggle lives become less hectic. You will both be missed!

Yikes! Has anyone seen Seraphinas new hairdo? No? Thats because shes only done the underside! Now, why on earth would someone do that!!?!? Ask her. I bet she denies it. : P
NO WAY! Darmean Volten is getting married! Hes a vampireand hes marrying a half-gorgon? Anyone else find something fishy about this? Hmm
JUNK takes a field trip! She is missing for DAYS, and reappears with an odd parcelthat also disappears when students have their heads turned. Sneaky! What could be up her sleeve?
Two of Slytherins prefects are sneaking around the Great Hall! According to one RPG on the BB, theyre sneaking around in search of something; though of course, its not quite clear what they are searching for at the moment
Saya Erikson likes a newbie! Of course, there are many at the moment in Slytherin, so which one? I have my mind set on Bastien, the alternate keeper for the Silver Serpentsbut who knows?
SLYTHERIN SCOOP
Beonca Aims
Let the classes begin! Ah weve waited all summer for this and the old and new offerings this term have certainly excited the Slytherins! Sing-ups were a breeze and of course we all are in DADA and Potions. The house has seen some new students arrive and slowly they are settling in. Darell Chappel needed some help with supplies; Cordelia is unpacking, Malleus Silvaticus made and impact in some of our games. Bastien Knightshade is currently working on an old family potion with Professor Snape and a few other Slytherins. Kiley Blaire has joined in the games too and Susie Fortner just arrived. So you see, we too, are growing!
Gryffindor's Trio Tournament
By Megan Miller
As summer approached, a sign up sheet was started in the Gryffindor common room for interested students to sign up for our first ever Trio Tournament! The objective of this inner house tournament was to not only give students more opportunities to earn points for Gryffindor, but also to get to know other housemates rather than just working and hanging around with their usual group of friends. The tournament's three tasks were assigned one at a time through out the summer, each person who signed up on a different team with different people every time.
The first task of the tournament was a Point-a-Thon, which definitely helped us out. It ran from July 31-August 7. The teams all worked hard to get in as many points turned in as they could, although yours truly should have helped her team out a bit more, but couldn't due to vacation.
The second task was a Post-a-Thon, evidently sending the students of Gryffindor into a flurry of frequent posting. This task ran from August 19- August 26 and some people, including yours truly, managed to reach a higher amount of total posts. Not a day went by where the games section of our common room was taken over. Every team worked hard to earn as many posts as possible for their team, and the results (seen below) were amazing!
First Place: Team A - 5,192 posts
Abigail R-T, Aerwin Turner, & Manda Black
Second Place: Team B - 3,768 postsLinda Danes, Fiona Chauvet, & Isabella Evans
Third Place: Team C - 2,778 posts
Kristin Johnson, Kalie Black, & Audrea Martin
Fourth Place: Team E - 1,845 posts
Adrianna La Cerva, Jared Knight, Shanay Smith, & Elizabeth Prentice
Fifth Place: Team D - 1,482 posts
Megan Miller, Roxanne Whitez, Hattie Gryff & Felicity Hedwig
The third and final task of the tournament was the Make-a-Shop contest, which called for each group to come up with an idea for a new shop for our co-op, and then create it. Each group worked hard, and we now have four new shops which will soon be in our co-op. After a recent poll, the shop that won the task was Red & Gold Inc. which was created by Felicity Hedwig, Adrianna La Cerva, Manda Black and Hattie Gryff. The other shops were Leon's Quick Candy, Cafe O'Lion, and Absolutely Excellent Instrument Shop. Be sure to check out our new shops once they're added!
This was a great way to get all our housemates together and interact with other people they normally wouldn't interact with. Great job to all tournament participants!
Slytherins Have Things They Do NOT Own and Wish for?
Seraphina Rosehill ~ I wish that Jen were on so I could pick on her. (Slytherins and their picking on poor other students!!!)
I wish that JenJen would spend her millions on us, and it wouldn't matter much if we were lucky, because Jen would be our sugar mama!
Jennifer Kull ~ I wish Rainy knew that Junk knows everything.
I wish I could keep a straight face. I've learned that it's nearly impossible for me. I'm always smiling or laughing at something.
Darmean Volten ~ I wish I had my music turned on right now. Oh wait, ok, there it is. (At least HIS wishes were granted.  )
Kayla West ~ I wish for some custard. Extra-thick. With lumps. And sugar.
I wish that I could mentally motivate you to go get some food, but alas. I'm not that mentally stable. Er...hang on...
Lorelei ~ I wish I had my magical chocolate tree.
Kelsey Nevaeh ~ I wish I didn't have to take these breaks to make Kool-Aid
Rainy Dae ~ I wish that *looks over her shoulder* I could feed one of Junk's snakes a bar of soap so that whenever it hissed it would hiccup bubbles.
Paige Connors ~ I wish I didn't get the hiccups
Slippery Slytherin Happenings
By: Jennifer Kull (JUNK)
Saya ~ I did have a weird side affect from the Bludger to the Head. I couldn't remember who I was or anything then I saw the bludger and everything fell back into place and I felt mean and snarky and I was scared.
Jen ~ And did you feel mean toward any particular person?
Saya ~ Well everyone really but more so toward Celi. Since it was her bludger that put me down.
Jen ~ *Nods* I can understand that. What did it feel like when your memory came back? Was it a 'whoosh' type thing, or a gradual feeling?
Saya ~ It was like who am I, what is going on, why does the creepy blonde guy have a piece of wood pointed at me. Ooh Look a pretty red Ball. Oh Merlin thats the quaffle SAYA GET UP!
Woah! It sounds like you had a rough first game of the season, Saya! Glad to know that it went well in the end, and that nobody was hurt too seriously. Thanks for sharing!

Beonca ~ Um, I was with a group of students and a teacher heading outside for a little 'field' trip and I TRIPPED! Fell down a few stairs and my books went flying and I almost knocked over a few other students on my way down. Actually I was aiming for the teacher...
HAHA, erm I mean, that is to say, I do hope that the person who tried to frame you was caught. I know that our dear Beonca would never do such a thing as trip a teacher : P Stupid books!

An Interview with a New Slytherin
Beonca Aims
Recently we have had some new students enter the silver and emerald common room of Slytherin, one that sticks out is that of Bastien Knightshade. He made quite the entrance in the Slytherin common room and we could tell right off he was from and old established family with a lot of history! Needless were excited and right off knew he was sorted correctly! So, I wanted to get to know him better, as once he is seen about the school, you will feel the same way, so I sat with him and ask a few questions, the interview went something like this.
We were alone in the common room, me on the couch and he, sitting on a chair near the fireplace looking very smart in his uniform... and multi colored hair

* So, Bastien, rumor has it you were transferred here, could you tell a bit about that?

"Yes it is true that I transferred here from Durmstrang, My father wanted me to come here first but that were problem back then so I have been a student there the last four years, that is until my father found a way to get me here and I am glad to say into the family house Slytherin.

* Would you have felt as much at home, you think, in another house?
"NO, My family has always bee a part of Slytherin, since our founder, to me this is home as much as Knightshade manor.

* What is the one thing you found we do differently here then other schools?
"Well I would have to say that there is more of a family approach here than at Durmstrang. But beyond that, just the fact that this is Hogwarts makes it so much better.

* What are your favorite subjects?
"That is easy, Potions and D.A.D.A. with Professor Snape; he has helped me a lot. I thank my good fortune that I have a teacher like him.
* Where do you see yourself after you graduate?
"Perhaps I will take up my fathers role and become an Auror, or maybe I will ask Professor Snape if he could use an assistant. Either would do for me

So you see what I mean? Now, if you see him in the halls, give him a friendly hello and a warm Hogwarts welcome!
Interview on Professor Snape's Inner Self
By: Jennifer Kull (JUNK)
What do you think of the Potions Master? Scary? Mysterious? Good, and rightly so! Well, I tried to clear up some of the mysteries of this professor with the cloak that has a self-made breeze. May our souls find eternal peace if we do actually find out the truth!

Where did you grow up?
~I grew up where I grew up...it is of no importance to any of you lot as to exactly where that was.

Right...So, uh, who was your best friend while attending school?
~A 'best' friend would imply I trusted someone....highly unlikely.

Of course it is. Do you keep contact with anyone outside of the school right now?
~Of course I do. Do you think my life is nothing but this school? Your magical education is important but hardly my life's work...

My mistake, Sir. Next question. Who, or what, was your first love?
~When one dedicates himself to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of medicine...one hardly has time for such trifles.

So...the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of medicine is and was your first love....interesting....Anyway, if you had the chance to change anything in your past, what would it be?

~Interesting...it boggles one's mind as to whom one could have eliminated...I mean, befriended.

*blinks slowly, then comes back to herself, clearing her throat*
If - If you had the chance to take on another career, what would it be?
~If it meant I did not have to deal with you lot, perhaps an alchemist, or a gardener in some remote mountain valley.

Uh huh...Just one more question, Sir, and I'll be on my way. Are there any further comments for the students who will be reading this interview? ~Yes...get your magical hinies in class, you should be doing lessons not reading some mindless interview...
