| Born
and raised in Manila in the Republic of the Philippines, Owen Ilagan is
one of the many fanatics spreading the word of the Emperor
throughout this great metropolis. His first experience with the hobby
was through Warhammer Epic in 1992. He amassed his Epic Space Ork Deathskulls
Clan and Chaos Thousand Sons army through friends and mail order. He has
fought the forces of the Space Marines, Imperial Guard, Squats, Eldar and
fellow Orks and Chaos alike in the grim battle fields of the ancient picnic
table inside the Ateneo
Rifle-Pistol Team shooting range. Following a hiatus of about two years, He returned to the scene with his Warhammer Fantasy Wood Elves army, most of which he purchased from the local Warhammer stores Neutral Grounds and Hobby Cafe which had just opened recently. As the popularity of Warhammer surged to unprecedented heights among local players, he joined the first Manila Grand Tournament held on May 1999 in a strong but unsuccessful bid to capture the Fantasy division championship. All was not lost as he did receive the top award for Best Painted Single Miniature with his raven-haired version of Alarielle, the Everqueen. Initially intrigued by finely-sculpted miniatures of the Sisters of Battle, he wondered what it would be like to paint an entire army of female warriors. His curiosity getting the better of him, he first tried his hand on a heavy bolter-armed battle sister. From then on, the army grew at a slow but steady rate since every battle sister was painted one at a time. As of this writing, the Order of the Daughters of the Merciful Emperor had just about reached completion as the army needs only a few more battle sisters miniatures. But even before it reached half of its current number, the Order has fought many battles against the Eldar, Orks, Imperial Guard, Chaos and Space Marine armies with moderate successes. Its current configuration is a fully mechanized company supported by fast moving Seraphim detachments and an Imperial Eversor Assasin. He currently works at Systema Computer Solutions Corp., a leading corporate software development company in the Philippines based in Loyola Heights, Quezon City that specializes in Lotus Notes and web-based solutions.
