Poetry Project

1. Student will choose a topic of interest. (Journal for brainstorming)

2. Student will read published poetry to find 10 poems about the topic, literally or figuratively.(Copy poems-Cite Source, Author)

3. Student will choose 5 poems from 5 different authors of literary merit (Must document credentials of poet as one of merit)

4. Student will create an analysis of each of the 5 poems using TPCASTT.

5. Student will choose one poem to teach to class and prepare a demonstration, which will include at least one visual aid other than a copy of the poem.  Additional stylistic devices should be addressed.  (
Beginning April 28)

6. Student will research said poem�s author, and write a short essay (no longer than 2 pages, with internal documentation and works cited) about the poet and his/her writing.

7. Student will compose an original poem, using said poem (#5)as a model.

8. Student will bind #5, 6, & 7 and
turn in the week of April 28.
