HOSTESS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Make sure
all players are reminded at least 7 days in advance. Provide dinner/dessert/drink (alcohol
optional) for entire group. Let players
know if you are doing a theme so that they may dress accordingly. Set up 3 to 4 tables for play. Make up
individual 3x5 cards for players by attaching ribbons. Announce to players if there is
room for guests. Above all, don’t stress
out and have fun! J
PLAYERS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
When the hostess emails or calls, please respond a.s.a.p. This will assist her in planning for the
night. Don’t forget your $5 (try to
bring exact change). Have fun! J
Basic
Rules:
- There are 3 – 4 tables set up with 4 persons
per table labeled as: Head Table, Table 1, Table 2 and Table 3.
- Each table is divided into 2 teams.
Team partners sit across from each other. Pick one person at each table to
tally points during each round.
- Keep track of team points (US and
THEM) by using the tally sheet (scratch pad) these points are only used
for each number round.
- Playing with a Ghost is a term used when we are short a player. If you are partnered with a ghost, you
roll twice. Only you collect a win
or a Bunko NOT the ghost.
- The Head Table controls the pace of
the game. The game begins and ends when that table rings the bell.
Game Play:
- One player from each table starts the
game by rolling all three dice at the same time. Each game starts with the
rolling of ones. Points are accumulated by rolling the number of that
round. Each one that you roll is worth 1 point.
- If you roll three of any other kind
(3-twos, 3-threes, 3- fours, 3-fives, and 3-sixes) during your ones round,
you score 5 points and continue rolling.
You continue rolling using all 3 dice until you don't roll any more
of the number that is up or a three-of-a-kind. Then it is the player to
the lefts turn.
- If anyone during round 1 rolls 3-ones,
then that is a BUNKO; call it out and it is worth 21 points. (3-twos in
round 2, 3- three's in round 3 and so on).
- When you roll a Bunko,
don't forget to give yourself, not your partner, 1 Bunko
tick on your personal score card.
- When 3 two’s are rolled in any given
round that is called Traveling (it is also a Bunko
in round 2). Traveling is a small
stuffed animal (usually) that gets tossed around when someone rolls 3
two’s. At the end of the evening,
whoever has Traveling wins a cash prize.
- If at this time or any other time a
player at the Head Table rolls a BUNkO or
reaches 21 points, the bell is rung & the round is over. The other
players currently rolling finish their turn and collect their points.
- Total your points for that round,
winners will mark their score card with a win and move to the next table.
If any of the teams have a tie score, continue to roll until a team breaks
the tie.
- At the end of each round, the winning
team at the Head table stays at the Head table keeping the same partner.
The losing team from the Head table goes down to Table 3 and switches
partners.
- The winning team from Table 1 goes to
the Head table keeping the same partner. The losing team from Table 1
stays but switches partners.
- The winning team from Table 2 goes to
Table 1 and switches partners. The losing team from Table 2 stays but
switches partners.
- The winning team from Table 3 goes to
Table 2 and switches partners. The
losing team from Table 3 stays but switches partners.
- 6 complete rounds (1 - 6) is a set.
- Play continues for four complete sets.
The game ends when all 4 sets (24 rounds) of BunKo
have been completed.
- Each person adds up their total Bunkos and Games.
- Winners are the players with the Most
Games, Most Bunkos, the player with Traveling
and Least amount of Games – Loser.
- If there is a tie there will be a
Roll-off (unless players want to split the cash prize). Players in the
Roll-off will take 1 dice. Player with the highest dice rolled will win
that prize category.
- A player is eligible for more than one
prize.
