What is Grupo Folklórico Olive Vista?
Grupo Folklórico Olive Vista consists of Olive Vista Middle School students.

When do they meet?
 The group meets during school. This class counts as their PE class.

Do they earn a letter grade?
 Yes! They earn their grade by participating in practices during class time and by participating in events for school.

Who teaches the class?
 The group is a self taught class. Students that have previous experience in folklorico and have been members of the group teach the rest of the students.

How can I join?
 7th and 8th grade students can join the group if they meet the requirements:

In their last report card:

  • A C average or higher

  • No U's

  • No Fails

  • Be an Olive Vista Middle School student

  • Be eager and ready to learn!


    • 6th grade students can also join if and only if they can show good work habits, good cooperation, and good team work.

    Do you need to pay?
     Not to enroll in the class. However, you do need to buy dancing shoes. A practice skirt is optional. Approximately the cost is between $20 to $150 dollars, depending where you buy them.
