| 7-15-04 This is a little complicated, so get your flow charts. Does everyone have their No. 2 pencils? Our hotel was bought by a company. They came into our hotel and told everyone that everything was ok. Everyone would keep their jobs. They even brought in someone and told us that it was our new GM. Then...One day...they called everyone that had a banquets function after July 15th and cancelled them. Weddings, family reunions, meetings, all of them. Cancelled. With about 1 weeks notice. Very professional. Very classy. Until about...umm...the 9th. That was when they told us that we were all losing our jobs on the 15th, and that the hotel was going to be knocked down by the company buying it. Until about...umm...the 15th. When we all found out that instead of having time off getting unemployment, we all had to stay at the hotel because the company who bought it didn't want to pay the two months of severance pay that they legally owed us. Since they owed us two months of severance pay for not notifying us, they would leave the hotel open for two more months and call it even. No severance pay for us. Just two more months of employment at a hotel where all the ice machines, pop machines, snack machines, cable boxes, and most of the food has been removed. So I was thinking about how much I hated this place...and reminiscing...so I came up with a list. This is my list: Gus Lori and Carl Fawn Todd D.
