10/21/03 1:00am:  The front desk called the security office stating that Rm. 625 wanted to speak to a manager.  Since we are Manager on Duty overnight, I called the man's room.  The man wanted to log a complaint against one of our banquet bartenders.  The man was obviously drunk and told several versions of the same story.  The main idea was that he had asked the bartender directions to his room and the bartender had given him wrong directions.  This was understandable, seeing that the bartenders aren't familiar with the wings of the hotel as they spend all their time here behind a bar.  The problem started when he went back to the bartender and the bartender swore at him and told him to go away.  The guest demanded that security comp his entire three day stay.  I agreed to comp one of his nights but no more.  At this point the guest apologized, and as the last version of his story, stated that he had probably sworn at the bartender instead of the other way around and that he probably couldn't find his room because he was so drunk.

No nights were comped for the guest.
Nothing as bright as getting something for free and tossing it in the garbage because you can't shut your mouth.  I love problems that solve themselves.
