| Look Familiar?? Gretchen and Dawson have a movie night and watch "Turn Away My Sweet"** directed by A.I. Brooks. Dawson see's it as a very well directed movie. He even goes as far as to say brilliant. When he tells Mr. Brooks he watched it and asks him about the chemistry between the two leads in the film, Mr. Brooks sends him away. Joey is asked to work Saturday night for a dinner at the Yacht club for some Applicants to a very promising school. At first Joey states that she can't and then when threatened with termination she tells Ms. Valentine that she will be attending the dinner as a guest. The person who looked over the apps asks if she is Josephine Potter. When she says yes he tells her she had one of the best Essays. Ms. Valentine looks a little embarassed. Joey looks a little jealous when Gretchen tells her that Dawson can make a rented movie and popcorn seem like an event. It's time to deck the halls when Gretchen persuades Dawson's parents to let her organize their Christmas party. Dawson is reluctantly roped into helping her. Dawson gets a little confused when he is told his essay isn't good enough because it does not state why he wants to go to school for directing. He isn't even suree why he wants to. Gretchen tells him to go to Mr. Brooks. When Dawson asks for Mr. Brooks' help and tells Mr. Brooks he needs to know why Mr. Brooks quit directing, Dawson gets shot down by him once again. Dawson finally tells him off and tells him that he (Dawson) is a 17 year old asking for some help and guidance and that all Mr. Brooks can do is shoot him down. (That's majorly shortened.) Joey drags Pacey to the diner and is upset when Pacey tells a little white lie to the admissions guy and steals her spotlight by telling him jokes. She gets even more upset when the admissions guy tells Pacey that he is just what they need at that college and asks Joey if he can introduce Pacey to the Dean. Joey says okay and she stays outside on the dock as Pacey and the guy from admissions goes inside. She breaks down and cries. Jen still hasn't filled out any college apps. Jack knows this and makes a comment to Grahms. Grahms and Jen still aren't speaking so Grahms tells Jack that Jen is a big girl and she has to make her own decisions. Later on when Grahms makes a comment to Jen about them Jen gets extremely mad and tells Grahms that she lost the right to have a place in Jen's life when she quit caring about her because of one mistake. (Shortend). Jack and Grahms get together and devise a plan about Jen's apps. Back at the Leery's Christmas party, Mr. Brooks shows up and gives Dawson a book and says that that book will explain his life better than he ever could. He tells Dawson that the reason he quit directing is because when he directed turn away my sweet, his best friend and his girlfriend were cast as the leads and he was so busy directing the film he didn't even notice that his best friend and girlfriend were falling in love. After he realized what had happened he came back to Capeside and he has lived there every since. Dawson invites him in. The first time he says no. The second time he says yes. Inside, Dawson catches Mr. Brooks flirting with Grahms. When he comments about it to Mr. Brooks, Mr. Brooks tells him he just might learn something. The high school counselor congradulates Jen on getting her apps in on time. That would be great only Jen never filled out her apps. Back at the dinner party, the administrations guy walks out on the dock and sees Joey crying. She stops crying and tells him that she doesn't know what to say at these dinner parties and goes on about the things she is unsure about. He assures her by telling her that if Pacey is any judge of Character than she is a great person. He tells her that she is very intelligent and that Pacey talked the Dean's ear off about her and had nothing but good things to say about her. He told her how Pacey went on about how much she has helped to make him a better person and to turn his life around. I think this makes Joey fell better. Joey and Pacey decide to go somewhere where they both fit in. Back at the Leery Christmas party Mr. Brooks spies Dawson and Gretchen standing under the mistletoe and tells Dawson to quit flirting and kiss up. gretchen tells Dawson it is tradition. The kiss however was a little more passionate than the peck kiss they should have "traditionally" shared. While they are kissing, Joey and Pacey walk in and they both look very shocked. That is how this episode ends. Not fair to end it this way is it? |
