| Dawson's mother finds out she is pregnant. Unfortunately, it is not good news for her. They are in debt, and she is not sure her relationship is completely stable. Dawson is upset by the pregnancy at first. He thinks it is an irresponsible decision, but a talk with Gretchen sets him straight. Jack takes a job as a youth soccor coach. He does great until he tells a girl who is flirting with him that he is gay. The parents of two boys take them off the team claiming tht Jack is a dangerous person. This really hits home with Jack and upsets him. Andie promises it will blow over, but Jack just wants to be alone. Joey is not sure how far she is ready to take things with Pacey. Jen tells her to go to the Free Clinic so that she can at least be prepared. Joey takes Jen's advice, however when her sister finds the things Jen got from the clinic, she goes off. Joey tells her that it is none of her business and that she can't stop her. As Dawson tells his mother he is happy about the pregnancy, she tells him she is not going to have the baby. She tells him she made too many mistakes with him and isn't ready to mess up another childs life. Dawson goes to Gretchen. Gretchen tells him that she got pregnant last semester and she was in debt, 20 years old, and was not prepared to care for a child. She tells him she had decided not to have her baby, but before she went she had a miscarriage. Dawson tells her her secret is safe with him. Dawson tells his mother that she gave him more than she thinks, and if her next child got half the life that he had that child would be the luckiest child in the world. She bursts into tears and thanks him. Joey tells Pacey that she is prepared, but they don't have to do anything. She tells him they have other options. As this episode comes to an end, Joey is given an understanding smile from her sister, Dawson's parents are on the couch cuddling, Jack is alone in the dark on the bleachers at the soccor field, and Dawson appears to be falling for Gretchen. |
