School and College My Kindergarten days started off from Mary Giri School, Peroorkada. Nice aayaas, nicer nuns - quite a good place for afternoon nap. LKG to 4th at there. onnu randu kurunnu premangal...hmmm... njaaanippam senti aavum.

Then i was airlifted to 'Royal' Christ Nagar E.H.S, Trivandrum, my dearest Alma Mater. 5th - 10th. The time i joined the school, it was a perfect boys school, with not even a single lady teacher. By the time i reached 10th, there were enough 'cutie teachies' like Stansy a.k.a 'Pendulum', Elizabeth, Devika..... ooopzzz!!! The good thing was that it was not a co-ed school then (now its one), so that there were no girlys to DISTRACT me (paaavum mon).

After 10th i was thrown out from a strict-disciplined, iron-walled, Christ Nagar into the free world. Gasped for air, guys. (athu paranjapazhaaa orthe, even though christ nagar was iron-walled, it had lots and lots of big holes big enough for rogues like Varkey to bunk classes and get boozed, films and all.)

My next Avatar was at 'Royal' Government Arts College, Thycaud. House to a lot of celebrity alumni (i still wonder why and how). After quite a long time, i was back in my KG cocoon, that slouching afternoon nap, wow! David George Sir, Rajeev Sir, Prof. Muraleedharan Nair Sir all didnt tolerate anybody sleeping in their class. But they never cared me taking naps, and buddies over there were telling that i used to even snore while the class was goin' on... comeon, i dont remember. In the first year, PDC students have their classes starting by noon. We'll be there with stomachs loaded and ready for a doze, but ironically put in a class. i still remember the cool breeze that used to strech its velvette hand and caress me while i was pulled into a dream doze. haa guys, it was at that time that bike-riding caught my fancy. Unfortunately, i got the company of some real crankies who were the city's most notorious riders. Rolling on, wheeling, scrambling, racing etc looked so simple when they did, some of which i too learned. I didnt know at that time that a series of accidents was in the line for me when i'm to join the new college.
UIT for me Oh! that place... SouthPark, Basketball court, Lab, German class..... u know guys? i still frequent there to savour the taste of nostalgia. UIT campus was the beginning of the end, and end of the beginning for me, for many a reasons. Place which taught many a lessons, albeit the hard way. Nevertheless, UIT offered permanence to everything we saw, be it happiness, togetherness and what not. No room for worries.
Later Experiences I joined KSEB on 15th March, 1999. 3 and 1/2 years at Vydyuthi Bhavan, Trivandrum, 10 months at Kilimanoor, 5 months at kazhakkoottam, and now at Vatakara. Much to tell about that place..... Life at Vydyuthi Bhavan was somewhat lively with weekly parties, boozes, witty colleagues. My car used to be a mobile bar every other week. i dont know why guys, but whichever place i go, there'll be at least one light-hearted guy who crack jokes everytime, that keeps the working hours lively.

There was Raju, Viju, Beena, Philip, Joseph Mascrene, Babu, SureshKumar(1 & 2), Justin at Vydyuthi Bhavan; Manju and Ajithkumar at Kilimanoor; Jayakumar at Kazhakkoottam etc etc... nice people . but there were some filthy elements too, as is the case anywhere else...
