Creating A my Direcway  Email Account

Minimum Requirements:

DirecWay 4.0

Screen resolution: 1024 x 768

Browser compatibility: Internet Explorer 5.X, or Netscape 6.1

Required plug-ins: Flash Player 5, Windows Media Player 7.1, and Adobe Acrobat 4

Note: The customer must allow cookies in order to support MY DIRECWAY in the future

Required Fields to Create a MY DIRECWAY Account:

User name (must be at least 6 characters in length

Password

Re-type Password

Site ID

Customer's valid e-mail address

Re-type customer's e-mail address

Security question

Answer to security question

Customer's last name

Customer's last name

Customer's zip code

 

CONFIGURING E-MAIL ACCOUNTS

IF USING OUTLOOK EXPRESS

 

1. Open Microsoft Outlook Express. If this is the first time opening Outlook express, and the Internet Connection Wizard has started, skip to step 4

2. Pull down the Tools menu and select Accounts. The Internet Account window opens.

3. In The Internet Accounts window, click Add and select Mail.

4. Follow the steps in the Internet Connection Wizard to set up your e-mail account.

5. For Display Name, enter your full name and click Next.

6. Enter your full e-mail address, and then click Next. (i.e, [email protected] or [email protected])

7. Verity that POP3 is incoming mail server type.

8. For the incoming mail server section, enter the address of your incoming mail server.

·       If using DirecPC as the mail server, enter POP3.direcpc.com

·       If using DIRECWAY as the mail server, enter POP3.direcway.com.

·       If using a different provider for your mail server, check with your ISP for the type or address of your mail server(s).

9. For the Outgoing mail server, enter the URL of your outgoing mail server.

·       If using DirecPC as the mail server, enter SNTP.direcpc.com.

·       If using DIRECWAY as the mail server, enter SMTP.direcway.com.

·       If using a different provider for your mail server, check with your ISP for the type or address of your mail server(s).

10. Click Next.

11. For the Account Name, enter the name used to log into the mail server.

 

NOTE: This is almost always the first part of your e-mail address. (i.e., Jsmith, not [email protected])

 

12. Add the Password associated with the account name.

13. Click Next.

14. Click Finish.

15. Click Close to close the Internet Account Widow, if it is open.

 

IF USING NETSCAPE 4.X

 

1. Open Netscape Communicator.

2. From the menu bar, select Edit and click Preferences.

3. In the Category list, click the + symbol to expand Mail &

    Newsgroups properties.

4. Click Identity under the Mail & Newsgroups category.

5. In the Your Name field, enter your name, us you would

     like it to appear on outgoing e-mail.

6. In the E-mail address field, enter the registered

     DIRECWAY or DIRECPC e-mail address.

 

NOTE- To see what e-mail addresses are associated with your account re-run WebSetup.

 

7. The remaining fields in the identity properties are

    optional.

8. Click Mail Servers under the Mail & Newsgroups

    category.

9. For the Outgoing mail server field, enter the URL of your

    outgoing mail server.

·      If using DirecPC as the mail server, enter smtp.direcpc.com.

·      12. If using Direcway (as the mail server, enter smtp.direcway.com.

10. For the Outgoing mail server username section, enter

      the username used to log in to the outgoing mail

      server.

11. Under the Incoming Mail Servers section, highlight the

      incoming mail server.

12. Ensure Never is selected for Use Secure Socket Layer

      (SSL) or TLS for Outgoing message.

13. Click edit to display the Mail Server Properties window.

      If no server(s) is present, click Add to create a mail

      server.

14. From the Mail Server Properties window:

a.     In the Server Name field, enter the URL of your incoming mail server.

b.     If using DirecPC as the mail server, enter POP3.direcpc.com.

c.     It using DIRECWAY as the mail server, enter POP3.direcway.com.

d.     Click the drop down next to Server Type and Select P0P3.

e.     In the User Name field enter the name used to log into the mail server.

f.     Click OK to close the Mail Server Properties window.

15. Click OK to close the Preferences window.
