The Bower House It is situated in a place called Havering-atte-Bower and is built on the site where a royal palace used to stand. It's now owned by Ford Motor Company. The palace that used to be there is was a favourite of Edward the Confessor, who was rumoured to have died there, but it was later given to Queen Eleanor as part of her dowry, then it bacame tradition for ownership to pass from queen to queen. The House itself was built in 1729 by a man named John Baynes.
