His maternal grandparents were Ida Alice Hill and William Monroe Hill of Parker County, Texas. His paternal grandparents were John M. Leathers and Sallie E. Leathers. Clifford is the great grandson of Frank James of Clay County, Missouri and Nancy Leathers of the old Yellow Creek area, in Dickson County, Tennessee. |
