| At 16 years of age, John had matured into manhood early in life. Remarkably; legends would pass into the generations of movie making. The making of the movie Jesse James in 1939 is accredited with help from one family member. As oddly to the fact, that 20th century fox included the "Teenage Boy" with Frank in the movie Return of Frank James in 1940. Along with Frank & the teenage boy hiding out near a town called Clinton. John Leather turned 17 years of age on October 1st, 1882 four days before his father Frank turned himself in to the Governor of Missouri. On Aprill 11, 1882 while still 16 years of age, the Kansas City Times reported the teenage boy as being 16 years old. |
