His father Frank was under trial and was housed at the Jackson,     county Jail in Independence,  Missouri as the boy was known to    travel from Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Kentucky and
Tennessee. It is believed he was in Denver, Colorado several times
before and after Frank's surrender. Along with his father Frank on
at least one occasion.

Would the James name survived through the years if not for the Outlaw Years ?
A son is born on October 1st, 1865 near Yellow Creek before the robbery of the Liberty Bank,  The James gang operated for several years before the attack on the James farm house by Pinkerton Detectives. April 11, 1882 an article appears by the Kansas City Times of a son as the name remain unknown!!!!
