| Life after the war; Frank James return briefly to the State of Missouri after the war. Spending his first four years in the saddle as a guerrilla, Frank made his daring ride across the old Mississippi river in late 1864. His brother Jesse particapated late in the war. Known to be at the battle of Centralia in 1864, Jesse remained west of the Mississippi river. Venturesome Boldness engulfed the riders known as Quantrill's Guerrillas. Their ride would carry them far from Missouri, crossing the Mississippi river, raider's of Quantrill's guerrillas entered Kentucky. Quantrill in 1865 would find his death at the Wakefield farm, as Frank James continued to elude Captain Terrell & the members of his band who were commissioned to find scattered rebel forces through out the area. Hell in the saddle, the Liberty robbery; No other legend is best spoken, as the Liberty, Missouri bank robbery. The wheels set into motion is credited with the return of Frank James after the war. Still wanted by many in Missouri, Frank James remained a wanted man in 1866. Riding into Liberty, Frank James followed by other members of the gang, left their horse's in front of the Liberty bank, as the other gang members stood along the walk way. The two who entered the doors of the bank building were Frank James, followed by Cole Younger. The daylight robbery on February 14, 1866 became legend as the outlaws who made their exit from the Liberty bank building, mounted their horses and quickly rode out of town. by; Mike A.
