| Sophia E. Leathers was born unto the parents of Ida A. Hill & William M. Hill of Parker County, Texas. Her father served under Nathan Bedford Forrest in the Civil War. A lifelong member of the church, her schooling was around the Springtown, Texas area. |

| Retaining ties to Parker County, Texas her entire life, Sophia was invited to the Annual Homecoming of the Union Baptist Church by her lifelong friend Mrs. Rose V. Chenault of Weatherford, Texas. Sophia married the "son" of ( John M. Leathers, Known unto all as the 16 year old son of Frank James as Published by the Kansas City Times on Aprill, 11, 1882. ) |
