Gene Starwind ran a fix-it shop on Centennial III with his partner, Jim Hawking. When repairs weren't enough to pay the bills, Gene made a living as an Outlaw. Collecting bounties, making black market deals, running weapons--Gene would do whatever it took to make a buck. But this Outlaw wasn't all business. Gene was generally a carefree guy who liked food and women. While Gene was no stranger to other planets, he preferred to remain on Centennial III. But a piece of Gene's past continued to haunt him. When he was a young boy, a mishap in outer space cost Gene's father his life. Now Gene is reluctant to pilot or even board a starship. But when the beautiful pirate named Hilda entered Gene's life, everything changed, and fast. Gene and Jim used to fight off the Kei Pirates regularly until finally they had met their match. The O2 tanks were destroyed in a vicious battle against the best pirates Kei had to offer.  Some say that the pirates left him there to die. Others say the Pirates blue the Outlaw Star to pieces and some people even argue that the ship is in the hands of the Kei Pirates.  All in all no one knows where the ship is to this day.
