Background Music ~ Why

Why?

I passed by the emblazoned wall

and from within I hear thousands call

Distant voices in unison cried

Why?

We fought for life yet we lost our own'

we left our loved ones and children alone

Yet it took this Wall to keep us alive,

Why?

I could see tears seeping out from deep within

After all Vietnam was America's darkest sin

Our youth, Our strength, lost in political lies,

Why?

It would take years to stop and touch each name

decades to understand the pain

but those uncaring hurry by,

Why?

Without this Wall would memories fail

Would the horror of war and bloodshed pale

Would our courage and honor fade and die, If So...

Why?

Is this Wall a token of Americas Guilt

Will Vietnam Veterans be at peace, now that it's built

Should we forgive the past so You can look in our eye's,

Give us a Reason....

Why?
