WAR UNLIKE NO OTHER

A known enemy....useable, unpredictable

capable of senseless destruction    

a silence.... a deadly mist

settling on this country slowly ending

 It's motion.... a  halting awareness 

sent by those who cannot accept freedom 

gasses invisible, In unstoppable masses

a stillness which engulfs humanity 

as poisons spread with the winds 

taking every gasping breath from our bodies

we, defenseless unable to protect against

asking why this terrible fate falls upon us

why were we so un-prepared?
