STRANDED DREAMS

Cannot awaken...

trapped in past horrors

flashbacks... horrible flashbacks

 a dream barrier of war

blood, death, destruction

distant screams of pain

stranded in deep sleep

war re-lived over and over

buddies die and die again

blackness, burning rain

trapped in memories

a deathly stench so real

 yesterday's have returned in night

tomorrow's vanished

future unclear, unseen

blocked by flashes of violence

exploding fragments 

waiting for death to in-gulp

everything around me

I stay un-touched

to re-live over and over again

like an unforgiving hell

begging it to take me

breaking this barrier

of dream...
