RHYME WITH REASON
THE VET
"Pardon me sir, could you spare a dime
disabled I am but I'll be fine
I fought in war, committed no crime
lost my limbs due to an exploding mine
survival's not easy this day in time
my day's are numbered, your in your prime
we gave for you on the front lines
so please sir, could you spare one dime
for a cup of coffee, a place to dine
it's not for a pleasure, such as wine
maybe a wash to remove some grime"
THE MAN
"I know who you are and where you have been
I am one you were sent to defend
I don't have much that I can lend
I'll give what I have to you my friend
you have given over and over again
it's a powerful message that you send
God bless you sir, I pray for your mend"
THE VET
"Thank you young man for your gift and kind words
you stopped, listened and heard
it's folks like you I was proud to defend
And sir.......I would do it all over again"
