A NEW ENGLAND TOWN

Snow covered mountains glazed in ice

trees stripped naked with no signs of life

as rivers stop running hardened by cold

 salt whitened highways protect traffics flow

Holiday lights shinning bright

children sleeping through the night

families gather for sprits and song 

remembering those who now are gone

Church bells ringing, a glorious sound

snowmen standing on frozen ground

the young and old sled the hills

enjoying the day in a cold winters chill

Ponds and rivers now an icy glare

skaters groves showing figure 8 flares

signs of joy are spread all around

in this an old New England town
